Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

To find my place in the world, to learn, to meet beautiful souls that come from everywhere. To share my knowledge with them and have them share with me.

ABOUT ME

I am a 21 year old University Student at the University of Calgary. I am Canadian although my Mom is from the US and I have dual citizenship :). I am a free-thinking, fun loving human and have been told I'm funny (okay who am I kidding, I think I'm funny.)

Currently, I'm studying English with a specialization in creative writing (not because I think they can teach me how to be creative but because if you're going to do something it should be something you are passionate about) although I did my first two years of school in Biomedical Sciences (UGH!)

I am admittedly (perhaps proudly?) a 420 connoisseur but lucky for you, I like to share and I also like respect anyone's decision to not smoke (live n' let live is a fantastic mantra)

I grew up in the country on a horse farm riding and competing horses (showjumping) but now live in one of the most liberal and well known neighborhoods in Calgary. My place is few blocks from the bow river (a river you can float down on warm days/freeze your balls off in on any other day) and I enjoy going for lengthy walks on the pedestrian/bike path that runs along the river.

I love cats, parties, shooting the shit until the wee hours of the morning, pub nights, club nights, hanging out with my supacool relatives from Tennessee and drinking beer on the porch until 4AM with my fabulous and glamorous Uncle Tony when I get the chance, reading, writing, laughing uncontrollably, making inappropriate jokes among many other things.

I love to travel, did a month long road trip across the US last summer and saw the best, and the most interesting of the USA (think getting lost in the middle of the night in the New Orleans projects, Sturgis Motorcycle rally and ensuing traffic chaos, smoking joints with Vietnam war vets in Northern Cali, human traffic jams in Chicago, Civil war museums in the south, weathering a massive storm/flash flood under a bridge in Tennessee while eating fried chicken, meeting friends from LA in our dingy hotel in SF and finding out one of them stole the credit cards and car keys of the others etc. etc.) What I'm trying to say is that wherever I go, adventure (good of course, I can't say I've been involved in an adventure I didn't like) seems to follow. If you hang out with me, there is a good chance something will not go as planned but it always ends up working out for the more interesting in the end.

I have been various other fantastical places over the years including Tanzania where I possibly left my heart. I would love to go back and retrieve it. The warm heart of Africa beats simultaneously with my own and I can honestly say, I have never felt more alive in my life than when I was in Africa.

My favorite part about life is meeting new people from all over who are different or the same from me, hearing their stories and sharing mine, giving drunken performances that border on full out stand-up comedy for my new friends (they haven't heard my material yet haha), sharing, loving, laughing and living.

I believe that love and laughter make the world go round. I love to laugh at myself, I think it's an important quality to be able to find laughter in any situation, no matter the darkness. I want to meet you!

Oh and I really really love Indian food. And since meeting some really cool Germans in San Fran, I am fascinated by German and would love to learn how to speak! Teach me!

PHILOSOPHY

Do what you love, success will come later. The journey is what's important to me, not the destination (took a coupla hard knocks to figure that one out.) Love and be loved. Find something to appreciate in all people, even those completely different from you. Travel, stay actively involved in your own life and always remember to keep learning. Don't be afraid to fart. Everyone does it.
