About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make the most of what I have

ABOUT ME

I'm not very good at talking about me, but I can say that I'm a social person, with a lot of energy!
I like when there's a lot of people around and sharing experiences, talking. I like trying things and am not good at routines.
At the moment I live in London, where I don't stop doing this, going there. I am interested in everything in this crazy city! Though I am particularly fond of what is free or recycled or hand made/home made/home grown or shared or that brings an alternative to our money-money world...

PHILOSOPHY

personnal philosophy... erm... I don't think I can be original on this one! Carpe diem is definitely important. Also, you can't change the World maybe but you can change your world.
and love, smile, feel free...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I was in Bordeaux, I participated in hosting couchsurfers, and trying to make them enjoy Bordeaux and around. And I think it worked :)

Now in London, I can't really host anybody for lack of space -unless an emergency, I won't let people sleep in the street!!- but I can meet people for a coffee, a beer, a concert, going to a museum, a park, a market or anything! I have been living in London for a couple of years now so I have found some nice places and things to do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For 5 years, I lived in a big house with 7 people and a lot of persons coming for one night or one week. Some of my housemates were couchsurfers, so we hosted many people travelling around.
Then, I travelled... I love travelling, and couchsurfing while travelling was a great idea! Really! So I travelled on my own in south America for three month, and I discovered places and people that I would never I met if I had stay in a hostel and roam the city with my lonely planet. (Don't get me wrong, I love hostels as well. And the loneny planet is my best friend, but it's different :) ) I've really met amazing people, which made my travels... easier? funnier? more interesting? different? yeah all that and more.

Interests

Learning, playing, discovering, talking, meeting, experiencing, reading...

What I do as a hobby is sailing, dancing, capoeira, gardening, playing games, hang around, go to museums, and also cycling, walking, hiking, snorkelling...

I'm interested in lots of things, but to say only a few: I am interested in alternative ways of life, history, science...

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
I like so many movies that it is hard to list just some. I like movies talking about a person's story, or a moment in history or a specific place in the world. Well I'm interested in a story more than in special effects.

The one I would look at a thousand time: black cat, white cat (Emir Kusturica)
The one that makes me laugh: monty python and the holy grail
The one that makes me cry: Todo sobre mi madre (Pedro Almodovar)
The one: Arizona dream (Emir Kusturica)

Music: Again, I'm not so difficult, but music definitely need something special. A soul, an energy, a message, a something...
I like music with mixed influences, like rock and flamenco, pop and arabic sounds, electro and swing...

For the energy: The music from the balkans like Emir Kusturica (him again!) or Goran Bregovic, and generally the music that makes you feet, hips, arms and head want to move!

For listening again and again: Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, The Doors and the music from the 60s 70s, David Bowie, Radiohead, Beirut, the cinematic orchestra, les têtes raides, and so much more!

Books: I'm crazy about books. I always carry a book everywhere I go. Some books I forget. Most come back into my head from time to time or left great impressions, some made me think a lot about my life...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Smiles, laughs!

And more practically, kayaking with whales in canada was impressive, founding myself on a char in the official competition of the carnival of Rio (with the feathers and all!) was amazing/scary/unbelievable, snorkelling with a huge turtle was very emotionnal too (so much that I breathed the water from my tube...), waking up in the amazonian forest, watching the moonrise, sailing with dolfins, walking in the mud barefeet, fall in love...

Teach, Learn, Share

woaw! I don't know what to say there!
I can share many things. Sharing is a spirit of life no? All I know I can share :)
And learning. All the time.
