About Me

CURRENT MISSION
One World Philosophy. We are all one family. PLEASE NOTE, WE ARE CURRENTLY ONLY ACCEPTING PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19.

ABOUT ME
I'm married and have 4 children - all in their 20s. I work out of my home. Since I do graphic design mostly, I have plenty of time to do artwork. I want to travel and do art wherever I go. My 3 daughters also do art. They're very creative and talented. We all have a great sense of humor and desire to make the world a better place for everyone. I'm learning that connecting with other people, sharing ideas, philosophies and outlooks on the world is what truly matters. We need to look out for each other. I love talking about quantum physics, art, philosophy and just about anything. And I love to cook. My husband loves the idea of couchsurfing, too.

PHILOSOPHY

Before I was always trying to do well at work. Then one day I just said, what is this for? I left a very successful career to do volunteer work and to REALLY LIVE - not just for the sake of working, but to EXPERIENCE life, and show my children what life is. I try to guide them and show how being connected to others and doing for others is what makes us good citizens of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a marketing person, having worked at ad agencies for many years. I use social media tools to spread the word, especially about the things I'm passionate about. I can see the CS Project as being a great way to spread true community among us all.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Years ago I stayed with people I met while traveling in France and Belgium. It was the best way to see the true sites, not just tourist things. I loved that and was thrilled to find CS!

Interests

Fine Arts: painting, printmaking, drawing, collage work; Graphic Design (I design logos, brochures, web work, etc.); Writing - both for fun and for work; Cooking, exploring, learning. I also love Gardening!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Gabriel Garcia Marquez (anything he writes); Amy Tan, books on physics, all art biographies, etc. Music I love: alternative rock mostly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, the first time I was truly amazed at a site was seeing the Grand Canyon (Arizona, U.S.A.) from the air. The second time I was amazed was seeing the Van Gogh museum works in Amsterdam.

Teach, Learn, Share

We're big on recycling as much as we can.

After working in Advertising for many years, I know that most ads are made to bring feelings of being left out if you don't buy or own items. We used feelings of guilt, betrayal, and other negative feelings so that you'd buy things. Ignore ads. Just plain ignore them!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom
