ABOUT ME

Oh boy, a whole description box all about me. I've never been good at this part of my profile. I am Sarah which you've probably gotten from my profile by now. I hail from upstate New York and currently live around Columbus, Ohio. I love cooking and traveling. I have been to England a few times and India three times one of which times I lived there for a year to participate in a study abroad program.

I like meeting people from all corners of the Earth. I'm a curious person and want to know more about the cultures of and traditions of everyone. I'm easy to get a long with, am funny, friendly, and talkative.

I guess this section is reserved for deep words of wisdom. Being 27 years old I don't know if I have acquired too much of that yet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I’ve been a member here a number of years now but haven’t been particularly active until now. I’ve recently located to a new city and don’t know anyone. I’m looking to meet new people and make friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first encountered Couchsurfing during one of my trips abroad in England. It was an odd concept to me at first, but I have really came to enjoy it. Without couchsurfing I wouldn't have had so many fun things to do and people to meet during my time abroad in England. Everyone that I have encountered so far is laid back and friendly. It's been a great experience.

Interests

As mentioned in my "about me" section I love to cook and travel. I like to learn different languages too although I'm not very good at self study and tend to have a shorter attention span with it unless I have an instructor. I also enjoy crocheting, watching movies, dance, and probably various other things that I can't think of off the top of my head right now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I'm a sappy Nicolas Sparks fan. That's pretty much all I read in high school. I didn't really read for pleasure in college, I just didn't have the time. Now that I'm out of there I'm sure I will be adding to this list shortly.

Music - I'd say mostly alternative rock...lots of music from the 90s but I do like a little bit of all genres depending on the artist.

Movies - Bollywood movies are my guilty pleasure despite the 3 hour length and often repetitive story lines. I like all genres of movies depending on my mood for the day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lived in Varanasi, India for a year.
