Exchange semester in Utrecht, Netherlands for the fall of 2015. Trying to adapt long-term to a new country and culture.

ABOUT ME

I am curious by nature, and very interested in different cultures, social science and the development of societies. I want to experience as many cultural shocks on my travels as possible. I like to meet new people and love how short conversations with complete strangers can completely change my way of thinking.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have surfed for the most part, but will start hosting once my situation allows it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every night I've spent surfing a couch has been at least ten times more interesting, more lively and more fun than staying shut up in a hotel. I hate hotels.

Food & drink: I am a professional coffee barista and a tea-and-coffee-lover. I am also very interested in cooking, although I'm terrible at it.

My favourite authors are Jane Austen and J.K. Rowling. I guess it's a strange combination. My favourite movie is Léon (The Professional). I am an omnivore when it comes to music, but some of my favourites include Rufus Wainwright, Fleet Foxes, Frank Zappa, Steely Dan, Donald Fagen, Debussy, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Belle&Sebastian, Johnny Cash, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Yann Tiersen, Edith Piaf, Stevie Wonder, Damien Rice, Air, Queen, The Beatles, Coldplay, Amadou & Mariam, A Tribe Called Quest, Propellerheads, Muse and Beastie Boys.
