ABOUT ME

Aloha, my name is Grace. I work remotely which allows me to work anywhere with a good Wi-Fi. I’m a nomad and home nowadays is where I unpack my suitcase. I love to immerse myself in the beautiful culture of other places, and meet locals.
Most people describe me as very friendly, outgoing, and highly adventurous. I love to meet people and also enjoy having great conversations over food and wine pairing and attending social events. I especially love to travel and explore different cultures and landscapes.

Boating was a huge part of my life. I used to own and live on a yacht in Hawaii. I once lived a minimalist lifestyle on a yacht(Searay) in Oahu, Hawaii back in the day so I have some knowledge about yacht life.

I love dance and choreography from jazz, ballet, lyrica and hiphop. I've been dancing since childhood. My favorite form of dancing is Latin dancing. I dance all forms of Latin dancing, and my favorite forms of Latin dancing are Argentine tango and salsa.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the power of positive thinking.

I also strongly believe in merits of diversity and open mind. I like meeting and learning from others whose lives are different from mine as it truly opens your mind to the world around you and everyone’s unique differences no matter where they are from.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I learned about CS through many mutual traveling friends. A friend from college once surfed and traveled to over 74 countries and he initially introduced me to couchsurfing a few years ago. That's how it all began...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love to meet travelers. I have met and made some great friends along the way. I've hosted as well as surfed and had also been active attending CS meetings in other cities while traveling and have also organized many many CS events in Oahu, Hawaii.

Boating to Niʻihau, the forbidden Hawaiian island. Traveling solo across Europe. Sitting VIP at the Dancing With The Stars show in Los Angeles. Being a VIP guest at the Miss Hawaii USA beauty pageant. Diner en Blanc. Living on a yacht in Hawaii. Visiting inside The White House. Snorkeling Silfra (the crack that directly divides the North American and Eurasian continents). Sandboarding in Huacachina, Peru. Traveling solo in Morocco & the Middle East.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: I dance hiphop, jazz, ballet, bellydancing and Latin. But my favorite style of dance of all is Latin/ballroom (Salsa, Cha Cha, Swing, Rumba, Hustle, Merengue, Bachata, Waltz, Fox Trot, Tango). I used to perform back in the days. Also, I dance hula. I can teach to dance!

LEARN: Food and Wine Pairing. I like learning anything new whether a new language or a new culture or a hobby.

SHARE: When I have the time, I organize and share some CS events to bring locals and travelers together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to have conversations about cultures, religion, hobbies and outlooks on life. Also, I like to spread some sunshine and Aloha spirit :)
