About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking for the new.
ABOUT ME
Iâm a 29-year-old artist living in New York City. I grew up and studied in New England and have lived here for three years. New York feeds my soul and I am so happy that it is my home base at this time in my life.
I'm very open-minded, gay, a vegetarian, and super liberal. My friends tell me that I am endearingly cynical. :)
I lead my own theatre laboratory, and work predominantly in theatre as a director and producer - creating interdisciplinary and collaborative performance. I've recently been experimenting with how neuroscience and art can work together and researching how the brain receives artistic experiences.
I've recently re-discovered the urge to write more, and have also begun experimenting with installation art.
I have a wandering soul and love going on adventures: airports are some of my favorite places because they are gateways to the globe. I love being outdoors and am fond of being active: walking, hiking, biking, jogging, climbing, yoga, building, urban exploration, etc. I also study a bit of circus art, including aerial silk and trapeze.
I love conversations/debates and learning new languages, and to-date speak a bit of Spanish, French, and American Sign Language, and a fair amount of German, which is my favorite language. I've just begun learning Greek, which I am having such a fun time doing.
PHILOSOPHY
I'd like to spend my whole life looking for new things and new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've just joined CS for the first time! I'll be traveling all throughout Europe in July and August with a goal to meet and share experiences with all kinds of new people. I hope these relationships will last so I'll have opportunities to host when I'm back home in New York City.
During my travels, I'll be doing some Workaway projects (trading volunteer work for lodging), some teaching (devised theatre in Germany), and some couchsurfing and hostel-ing. I am excited about how all of these different experiences will shape me both as an artist and as a world traveler.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read a lot. Jose Saramago is one of my favorite authors, along with Milan Kundera, Anne Carson, and Euripides. I've recently fallen in love with Virginia Woolf.
I am a big documentary film fan and also enjoy expressionist black & white films.
Music: I love it all, and I really love to discover new tunes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went skydiving for my birthday several years ago and it was exhilarating. I had never before felt so uninhibited in my life, and found such peaceful solitude up in the sky. I would love to skydive all over the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love exploring and teaching about the creation of performance. I can also teach some circus aerial technique and am pretty obsessed with talking about German history and culture.
