ABOUT ME

we are sisters, NOT a couple! However we are travelling together and spent possibly a bit too much time together...

We grew up in Dublin with a Dutch mother and an Australian father so we had the travel bug bred into us.

Jill: As soon as I was old enough I got out of Ireland and moved to Australia. When that got boring I moved again and again and again. So in the last 4 years I haven't lived in the same place for longer than 9 months. Now I've ended up in Exeter, the closest to where I started as I've been for a long time. But I'm at a bit of a loose end so I'm going to do some boat building!

Katie: Once I finished school I packed in as much travelling as I could before starting uni in Brisbane. The plan was to settle in Australia and do my degree but plans don't always work out! After just one semester of fashion design I dropped out because I realized it definitely isn't the industry for me. I may return to Uni and study Fine Art but until I'm sure I can commit to that I'll be travelling the world. So far its so much fun that I may never stop!

PHILOSOPHY

Home is where ever we happen to be. (Don't get freaked out if we start calling your couch home, it doesn't mean we wont leave!)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing and hosting for the brief periods where we have a couch of our own to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are still relatively new to couchsurfing but we have surfed a few couches and have been able to host some wonderful people in our apartment in Victoria, which made out life here much more fun! We haven't met a surfer we don't like so far and we don't expect to! This site seems to attract the most wonderful, friendly, interesting people and bring them together, we love it!

Centres d'intérêt

well we like to travel.....we enjoy experiences such as playing in waterfalls, visiting beaches, walks in the forest (long but not TOO long!) the odd mountain climb or hike, swimming in cold, warm or even a little dirty salt or fresh water, cruising, sailing, and Katie especially likes to kayak. We're also very fond of the odd museum or art gallery especially modern art and exhibitions that are interactive and possibly aimed at children. We will also enjoy a bit of history (preferably told as a story though) and a good walking tour never goes astray (ha ha get the pun!)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

We have found that in fact, the whole world is amazing and beautiful.
We especially enjoyed New Zealand, any country where you can hike through the rainforest, then walk on a glacier and spend the afternoon sunbathing on a driftwood strewn beach is OK with us!

I (Katie) would really like to learn Spanish if anyone wants to help me out!

Also if anyone can teach us how to make porridge properly that'd be awesome because we've been eating it for ages now....and we definitely haven't mastered it. (but it is cost effective!)

We've got lots of stories to share . . . like most people on here. . . if we develop any particular skills we'll let you know! Oh we can make some pretty excellent mojitos!
