CURRENT MISSION

My current mission as a dance artist and fellow earthling is to experience the many wonders that life has to offer and to share them with others. I like to see the many ways people dance through life,it infuses my art and inspires me!

ABOUT ME

About me...hmmm, well I am a Toronto born dance artist,I believe that dance is a form that reveals the most about the human condition because it is so transient and transcends through time and space. I love meeting new and like minded people, I am generally drawn to people that live life a bit differently than the rest, who aren't afraid to be themselves and most of all are true to themselves. I am naturally introverted but I don't feel that makes me less outgoing or fun, it maybe just makes me a little weird, but I think most people are a bit weird anyways.The most important thing in life in my opinion are people, I love talking to people and sharing ideas and thoughts about whatever interests them.I think it is the best way to learn and enlighten oneself!. I am currently leaving my wonderful home of Toronto to explore my creative potential in Europe and to meet people on the other side of the ocean.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal Philosophy is embedded in truth and honesty. Being true to oneself and others allows for open dialogue, a sharing and understanding of the differences that exist within people. I think if everyone was able to be themselves without fear of judgement the world would probably function better.

Interests

I am a dancer,and though I do it professionally, I think just about everyone has a dancer within them. My main form is contemporary but I love a wide range of styles including urban dance such as hip-hop, house and breaking as well as other forms such as middle eastern dance,flamenco, salsa,and jazz. I love music- I am eclectic to no ends, I love hip-hop, electronic, jazz,metal, ambient,bluegrass,soul,country, just about anything that is good and well put together. I love photography, I am by no means a pro but like to think I have a bit of an eye. I am very much into philosophy,particularly Jean Paul Sartre, Simone deBeauvoir and the like. I love graffiti and street art and am currently choreographing a dance piece inspired by street art. I love to bake cookies and read a good book outside on a sunny day.I love animals of all kinds, particularly cats of all shapes and sizes.I like to write spoken word poetry and am working on getting the courage to perform some one day. I am very open minded and try to understand the many varying perspectives of the strangers i meet and the people who are closest to me. love learning new things and try not to go a day without doing so. My family, friends and cats are very important to me.I am excited to meet lots of awesome people who live on the other side of the ocean!

Music, Movies, and Books

In the way of movies, I will name a few,true romance,the professional,eternal sunshine of the spotless mind,blue velvet, anything David Lynch, office space...I also really like documentaries, recently watched one called big river man about a man who swims the amazon river,it is very good, and one caled black gold about the coffee industry. Music wise, a few of my favorite artists include aesop Rock, Aceyalone, squarepusher, DJ Shadow, Chase and Status, Dubfire, Bonobo,Madlib, JDilla,aqualung,converge,katatonia,peaches,Herbie Hancock, Duke Ellington,Charles Mingus,etc. Books include Confederacy of Dunces,Can't Stop won't stop,This is your brain on music,catch 22, the nausea, steppenwolf,the age of reason,the fionavar tapestry, sword of truth series, anything Naomi Klein, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the Pantanal jungle in Brazil, slept in hammocks, hung out with monkeys,swam in rivers, rode a horse through the jungle...it was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to dance and how to do a cartwheel or a back flip if you are so inclined!!! I can also make really good baklava and a delicious chocolate beet cake!!
