Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
to make someone laugh in Mandarin
ABOUT ME
After completing four years at University in London, I am really enjoying getting to experience some of the real world. I am easy going, relaxed and friendly but, from my experience, so are most people involved with couchsurfing.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately, I haven't couchsurfed since 2011 in Shanghai. It was super and it seemed like the best way to get to know real people so look forward to repeating the experience.
Interessen
Tennis, Music, Gigs/festivals etc, politics/economics in the UK and abroad, the start-up business scene, Film, TV, science.
I have been trying to get better at a few things lately. I'm learning Mandarin (slowly), cooking Indian/South Asian food (I'm trying, I really am) and I keep picking up my guitar to learn some new songs (much to my neighbour's dismay).

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Well, the albums I have been playing incessantly over the past few months are:
Arcade Fire - Reflektor, The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie..., Arctic Monkeys - AM, These New Puritans - Field of Reeds, Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
That's an idea although I would like to broaden my taste if you have any suggestions (especially any non-Western music).
Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, American Beauty, LOTR. The Fifth Element and Con Air were my favourites when I was a bit younger.
Birdsong is my favourite modern novel (besides the Harry Potter series of course - kill me, I'm British). I am reading American Psycho at the moment (please don't take anything bad from that) but that is just to try and stop me from reading any more of Game of Thrones.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Well, my biggest teaching cards are going to be English with a Midlands accent and physics. Not many people want to learn much physics though, whilst travelling. I can also offer (pitiful) French and Mandarin. I will be trying to learn Mandarin on the road, myself.
I just want to learn what everyone here wants to learn - what it is really like to live in the places that we visit, beyond the temples, train stations and Lonely Planet haunts. If you could teach me some guitar, that would also be very helpful.
