About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently in Bordeaux, my home base, applying to AmeriCorps VISTA positions and looking for work that involves environmental preservation and work rooted in queer theory and critical race theory.

I’m also looking for funding to do a travel research project on LGBTQI+ art activism in Latin America.

ABOUT ME

I am really open minded, accepting, trustworthy, organized, athletic, chill, silly and oodles more!
Here’s a short timeline of my life:
I just moved back to Bordeaux after living in Mallorca for a year.
I graduated from Utrecht University in 2019 with a Gender Studies Masters.
I graduated from Bishop’s University in June 2014 with a: major in french and spanish ; concentration in italian ; minor in film studies.
I lived in Oslo, Norway for 6 months after graduation, then went to Panama for 27 months as a Peace Corps volunteer in the community environmental conservation sector.
I worked my butt off for 6 months back home in the States whilst applying for my Master’s and then went on a US road trip to explore even more!

I love:
Equality
Feminism/Intersectionality
concerts/music festivals
playing futbol
being near (beach) or on the water (kayak or sailboat) - it's my place of zen
cooking - coming from a french background, food and wine are VERY important
travelling - being bilingual has made me want to learn as much as possible of other cultures, to learn to speak many languages, etc.
art - modern, contemporary, street, etc.

my dreams:
- translate and subtitle international films, art and music having to do with activism and feminism and queer topics to facilitate cross-cultural knowledge and education
-go to cooking and wine school
-work on my electronic music
-work for ILGA or UN Women on LGBT rights and gender equality for diversity and inclusion
- train people on diversity, inclusion, sexual orientation, belonging, etc.
- starting a collective Center for the queer community

PHILOSOPHY

If you have dreams or desires to do something in life, DO IT! When you're old, you don't want to look back on your life and say, 'SHIT! i should have done this, that and that'.
Don't hold back on what you want...go get it, achieve it,make mistakes, learn about yourself and develop yourself as an INDIVIDUAL, not as a follower.
Be yourself and don't EVER let anyone else tell you to be someone you're not, or treat you ways you wouldn't want to be treated.
Everything in life happens for a reason, and when you open your mind to understand why, life is a lot less harsh.
