About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make drawings and live as thrifty as possible

ABOUT ME

I like doing art and talking with people. I like writing, and I really like eating. I like exploring certain places, and I like being pleasantly surprised by them. I do a lot of art for the websites of mine because I haven't been in one place long enough to justify making tons of objects. You can check out my main site at www.robks.com and click on the name to get to all of my other sites.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be good to those immediately around me and do my best to have a cumulatively joyful life. It's a simple statement, but painfully complex to me. I am always seeing and experience things that shift my paradigm back and forth, to and fro. I like it that way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be part of a community that continually encourages each other and independently works together. I think that people should be able to opt out of the endless cycle of buying and selling if it does not work for them. This is not directly possible, but I think CS is a positive step in that direction.

I wanna meet people and learn from them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Staying in Boston with a bunch people who had copious amounts of food because of some regular dumpster diving at Trader Joe's. I just sat around and ate for a couple days. That was bliss.

Interests

Art, movie, reading biographys, and cooking in interesting and creative ways. Cooking with very little money basically.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is like a year old but, you know:

I recently read Jay-Z's autobiography "Decoded" which was surprisingly good. It had a lot of run-on sentences and 20 sentence paragraphs which reminded my of "Crime and Punishment." I have yet to finish a book by Dostoevsky. I have also been reading painter Gerhard Richter's Biography. It is pretty good. Then again, I already thought he was awesome so it would be hard for me not to like this book.

At the moment I write this I am listening to "Don't Think Twice It's All Right" by Bob Dylan. To say the least, it is cutting me deep.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was part of a youth circus when I was in my late teens. It was cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't want to directly teach anyone anything, I just want to be with people.
