Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS (Lourdes): I absolutely love Rayuela (trans. Hopscotch) by Cortázar, and "Pedro Páramo" by Juan Rulfo. I enjoy anything by Saramago. I think Jeanette Winterson's "Written on the Body" is beautiful. I've recently read "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides and loved it. I like poetry and stories/essays by Mario Benedetti. I think Raymond Carver is a master story-teller.

MOVIES (Lourdes): Paris, Je t'aime, Little Miss Sunshine, The Visitor, Y tu mamá también, Amores perros, Temporada de patos, The English Patient, American Beauty, Fight Club, E laberinto del fauno, Lucía y el sexo, Mar adentro, Il Postino, Scent of a Woman

MUSIC (Lourdes): I have a very eclectic taste in music; this is only a sample: Café Tacuba, Interpol, The National, Doves, Arcade Fire, Spoon, Band of Horses, Wolf Parade, Thao Nguyen, Panda Bear, Ditty Bops, Belle and Sebastian, U2, Francesco Guccini, ABBA, Air, Explosions in the Sky, Anthony and the Johnsons, Broken Social Scene, Deer Tick, Department of Eagles, Fleet Foxes, anything 80's when driving!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have been fortunate to have had the opportunity of living in different places and experiencing different cultures. That in itself has exposed us to many experiences and different ways of living/seeing the world.
* There are amazing things to be seen every day, in every place. *
