Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Get involved with couch surfing and meet great people!

ABOUT ME

Easy going, like to laugh, be happy, and enjoy life. Love traveling, entertaining, and meeting new people from different cultures and walks of life. So I thought I'd give couch surfing a try!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still relatively new to couch surfing, and have only hosted people so far, but it's been great! Hopefully I will be able to take my next traveling adventure soon and get to couch surf myself, but in the meantime...I figured I'd get started with some people staying at my place, have a great experience, and hopefully I can do the same somewhere next time I'm traveling. I've usually stayed in hotels, hostels, or with friends when traveling in the past, and thought this would be another cool option. From the experiences I've had already as a host, it's made me even more excited to couch surf when I'm traveling myself.

If you're staying with me I'll be happy to share my knowledge of NYC with you, provide any tips and tricks your interested in, or even show you around if you'd like. I'm really easy going and "mi casa es su casa" is more of my motto when you're here. My goal is for you to truly enjoy your stay in NYC and have an amazing time in this city!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CS experiences have been awesome so far, and I feel pretty lucky. I've already met some really cool people and made some good friends just from hosting. I think this gives myself and others a chance to have a unique travel experience, expand international contacts & friends, and see new places. So I'm looking forward to more CS experiences, both surfing and hosting.

Intereses

As far as interests, you name it and I probably like it...sports, travel (that's a big one obviously), outdoors type stuff, movies, reading, events, nights out with friends, hanging out in the park, the occasional impromptu dance move ;), etc., ect...

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I've been asked a lot for various tips regarding staying in NYC. So I figured I'd add some info here. There are a ton of tips/tricks for the city, and most depend on the situation, or what you'll be doing, or want to do. I enjoy sharing whatever knowledge I have and helping people, so if you have a question, please feel free to ask. In the meantime, here are some basic links that can be very helpful before, or during your stay in NYC.

Time Out New York http://newyork.timeout.com/ : This is a fantastic site that a lot of New Yorkers use to see what's going on in the city. It's packed with info, including what to do in the city that day/week/month, what events to check out, places to see, free things to do, etc.

Groupon (http://www.groupon.com) & Living Social (http://www.livingsocial.com): Talk to almost any New Yorker and they are signed up with at least one of these sites (most likely both). When you hear about people living active lifestyles in the city, taking fun classes, going to events, or getting a great deal on a shopping item...these are two sites that probably played a part. It's rather simple. When you sign up for the sites, you provide your email address and they will send you one new deal each day. Many times these deals will be anywhere from 65-85% off the standard price. You never know what will be on there, but if you find a great deal on something that's fun to do while your here, you'll be excited. Just make sure you enter a NYC zip code so you get local deals in the city. Mine is 10021 if you want to use it.

Yelp (http://www.yelp.com): This is another site for the city. Yelp started as a "foodie" (people that love food and trying new restaurants/foods) review site, and is now reviews on almost any establishment or thing you can think of. So whether you want to see reviews and tips on places you're thinking about going, or want to search for "best tapas bar" or "best thrift shops", etc., this is the place to do it. You can probably find reviews for whatever you're interested in, and they do a lot of "meet up" events that other travelers go to a lot.

Hope this is helpful, and if you have any questions feel free to ask me. :)
