currently making a round the world trip no planes going West, a traveling project called "Endless Road" with my family, a travelling family of three, me Alex, my wife Juliana and our 9 years old adorable and cute Sofia.

ABOUT ME AND MY TRAVELLING FAMILY OF THREE

Hello everyone! It's Alex here from Italy with his family, my wife Juliana and our little child Sofia, 9 years old.
I met my wife Juliana in Macapà, north of Brazil after 6 months of travels during my RTW trip no planes. We continued travelling together crossing the Amazon River getting to Belem and travelling in 3 days till Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. We flew back to Italy and started building our family. Every two years we went back to visit her family and last year we went to take Sofia and bring her to Italy to live with us.
This year we both decided to give up our jobs to go travel in South America and to continue the trip i temporarely stopped in Sao Paulo 5 years ago with Juliana.
Now we are on the road and are ready to meet great and awesome people and live wonderful and amazing adventures together. In the meantime I am homeschooling little Sofia. We have got lots of projects together.

Hello folks, Alex Wilson here, I'm a 28-years-old traveler who lives and loves the ROAD, I was born and grew up in Italy. I started traveling when I was 18, in 2010, I was tired of being in the same place, so I took a globe and after spinning it I closed my eyes and randomly pointed on with my index finger, then I finally found myself traveling all over the United States, 8 months in 2 years, and a big dream became real. The choice I made changed my life! Since the very first traveling day I'm a very total different person, I started being full-time positive, optimistic, happy, curious of everything around and I've got to know that traveling is the best thing I can do so far. I fell in love with LIFE and I understood that I love meeting people, experiencing and having adventures together, so now I've got a lot of good friends from all the 5 continents.

All the travels, the jobs, the things that I've done so far were just for one reason, a life project: my traveling project "ENDLESS ROAD" - A ROUND THE WORLD TRIP NO PLANES. I'm going to start bicycling my mountain bike from Faenza, my hometown, to the great West on MARCH 1ST 2014. I'm planning to travel in more than 80 countries for about 6/7 years straight, going slowly, meeting locals, integrating into new cultures, learning languages, working on the way, staying only with my feet on the ground and crossing the oceans, using every different kind of vehicle, no cheating with planes at all, and at the end coming back to the same initial point. I will keep a journal during this big adventure and after the project is done it will become a book. Know more about on:

My friends told me I'm "a people person, open-minded, easy-going", some others said I'm "a cheerful young & poor lil hobbit", "a peace 'n' love happy hippie", "a funny free spirit with a huge heart". I consider myself as a Happy Hippie Hobo Hobbit (if we meet I'll tell you why I chose this funny sentence for myself). Since I was a little kid I play piano, guitar, drums and percussions, I compose my own music and I sing too, so I can say I'm also pretty sensitive and I love to express my emotions and feelings through the music I play, I love and respect everybody, everything around me, mostly little things.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My american brother told me about this wonderful website in spring 2011, so I joined in and started hosting travelers in his house in Denver while I was traveling, I have had amazing experiences like getting to know really open-minded people and their cultures, learning languages from them, cooking meals together, having crazy and unbelievable adventures together on the road. Here in Italy I hosted many new friends, travelers and students from all over the world in my parent's house and in their apartment close to the sea, we had so much fun, memories I will never forget!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I actually can say I have had hundreds of Couchsurfing experiences without even using Couchsurfing at all, because when I go hit the road I easily make friends, we suddenly hang out, party or travel together and then they decide to host me for a night or two or even more.

I love traveling without planning where to go exactly and what to do, I just go with the flow, where the wind takes me. I love being in the outdoors, walking, riding my mountain bike, hiking, backpacking, camping and getting into the wild, listening to the silence, the wind, the peace, with my arms wide open up to the sky, I love watching sunsets and sunrises, to live the night like crazy, I love the nature and the animals, cats are my favorite pet, though I'm super allergic to, I love hitching rides and driving the car on the big roads, I love road trips. I love meeting new people, making new friends, helping them, making them happy, talking and listening to them, understanding their cultures, learning their languages, living with them, sharing things, stories, travel tips, experiencing, cooking and drinking together. I love to chill and relax, I love to chillax. I love to cook food and make "experiments in the kitchen". I love to listen to any kind of music, to compose music, to busk in the streets and on the beach with my guitar and some percussions, to play music, jam and make improvvisations with people around. I love to read books of any kind, mostly about real traveling stories, to write about my thoughts and adventures happened to me, poems and short novels. I love watching movies of any kind, expecially those ones where I can find myself in. I love talking about travels, music, books and movies with other people for hours.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was 19 and alone in Montana, U.S.A, I bought my first car in less than one hour, traveled all over the states for 3 months and made 23.000 miles on my own in just 48 days visiting 36 states! Better than Kerouac!

Once after sleeping only 4 hours in my car I drove 19 hours straight and made 2000 km from New Orleans to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, crossing all Texas like a bullet!

I drove almost 10.000 km in 6 days, because I fell in love with my car, how spending a week into your car like a mad person!

I hitch-hiked 3500 km by myself in 3 weeks between Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria.

One night I made and cooked home made ravioli burro and salvia in 3 hours for 10 friends from all over the world.

On a cruise on the mediterranean sea I didn't sleep for almost 5 days straight and I saw 5 wonderful sunrises and 5 wonderful sunsets.

Teach, Learn, Share
