ABOUT ME

Currently on a working holiday visa in Vancouver. The grand plan is to save some cash here and then get some proper traveling done in South America.

I'm a happy, laid back kind of gal. I'm very open minded and love chatting to people about their lives and interests. I'm totally open to new experiences, places and people :)

PHILOSOPHY

I am a big believer in positive thinking and general optimism. I have a lot to say on the subject including how this is linked in with the universe and creating your own reality.

But...even if you don't believe in all of the above new-ageiness thinking, what bad can come of always trying to find the positive in a situation or being excited about the awesomeness that is the future?

I've lurked on this website for a while, in awe of all of the awesome folks opening their homes to other awesome folks!

I've just updated my address on here, so when I get my verification postcard through I'll be happy host here in Vancouver :)

Interests

I'm always very open to new interests but my main love in life has to be horses. I'm really not looking forward to leaving my wee horse behind when I leave, but I cannot wait to try out some Western riding, yee ha!

I really like any kind of outdoors pursuit i.e. hiking, camping and watching nature. I've just gotten back into some mountain biking which is fun. In winter I do enjoy strapping a large board to my feet and attempting to make my way down a snowy mountainside.

Indoor likes include cooking, learning to cook from other people and having a good, put-the-world-to-right chat over a glass of wine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sun rise over Urulu (Ayers Rock) in Australia.

EVERY sunset in BC!

Doing research work in a Thailand town which was severely affected by the 2004 Asian Tsunami and visiting a police boat that had been dumped 1.5 miles inland.

Reaching the summit of Ben Nevis and temporarily being taller than anyone else in the UK!
