About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade !"

ABOUT ME

Hello there ! My name is Bond... Jam... haha, of course not. Even if I would like to be a James Bond's girl very much, at least instead of being him, I'm just Mélanie, Mélie most of the time.

I finished my studies 9 years ago [already, damn], living an adult life now "métro, boulot, dodo".
I travel every chance I get. Right now, I'm staying several weeks in Firenze to learn italian. After being wedding planner for several years, I needed a break from stress!

I would describe myself as a bit shy at first, but always easygoing (yes, both can be possible at the same time, and if you don't trust me you have to try being me ;-)), very chatty at the end, curious, open-minded and with a good sense of humour. I enjoy good food, having a drink with someone and re-draw the world in our own way, little things in everyday life that make it kind of magical and being useful to others. I'm also a cinema, american series and music lover. Family and friends mean everything to me.

PHILOSOPHY

It's a rough translation for a Seneque's quotation but... This is not because things are difficult that we don't dare, things are difficult because we don't dare !
I try to remember it every time my shy side tries to come back !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

First, I tried it as a guest in Dublin and it was nothing but amazing. Then, I attended meetings in New Zealand and find good friends from the other side of the world. I hosted for a couple of years, and put it on pause for now as I'm between homes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed with my ex-boyfriend 12 years ago for the first time in Dublin, with two different hosts. It was completely different but both were amazing stay. Since this great experience I trully believe that couchsurfing is the best way to know a city, or any place instead of going to a youth hostel and doing what every tourist do. To me, it means so much more than a free place to stay, it's about discovering and sharing real life and habits from a place and go over appearances.

Interests

Huge fan of any kind of music (it's hard for me to be in the silence too long, maybe that's why :)), crazy about cinema, I'm also very interesting in media and I spend a lot of time surfing on the net, always looking for something useful or useless but funny to do ;)
I know it's not fashion anymore but I really love zumba and bodyjam. It clears my head like nothing!
I'm definitely a travel lover and it might be because my greatest passion in life is meeting new people from everywhere to share with.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music ? Any kind, really, it depends on my state of mind.
Books ? I'm a big reader only by the time I use public transport, I have issues to lay on my bed and to take time only to read and nothing else (maybe because of my geek side this time ^^) but I'm still a huge fan of Harry Potter and I felt in love with Eat, Pray, Love. Then I don't have any particular style if I find a book that I like, I take it and that's it !
Movies ? Cashback, Love me if you dare, Inception, Vicky Cristina ,One day... As you can see I enjoy girls movies but not only. I'm also keen on Marvel's movies [avengers, assemble!], and sometimes blockbusters too, at the end any kind, just follow my heart for these things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A crazy drum class somewhere lost in a Dublin cave.

Teach, Learn, Share

Open my heart - go everywhere - share my experience - keep my mind opened

What I Can Share with Hosts

- your own room
- A nice collection of board games and videogames
- Some crepes if you are lucky enough to stop by during a not-so-busy weekend
