About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn and practice being an active dreamer and share my wisdom. Or am i actually living in a dream?

ABOUT ME

Friends and partner would state that i am a warm open hearted individual who does not rise to anger very easily and who people instictively trust and know they can rely on. They would describe me as a bit eccentric, in fact one friend who first met me thought i was a fruit cake but if you first met me you would probably think i was a normal mid 50ish person who has bought up 3 sons and now has more times for own pursuits.
live a 45 minute train trip from melbourne central, with views to a lovely part of melbourne, The Dandenong Ranges which are one of the premier tourist destinations (puffing billy, sherbrooke forest)and a lovely place to visit. You will need a car to get the best out of this area or be prepared to organise trains/buses to get to dandenongs as we both work and cannot be individual tour leaders for people. So if you like seeing some of the city, 45 minute train ride, but like to stay where there is garden and views and a lovely dog then we may be able to host. We eat vegetarian so you will need to be content with cooking and eating vegetarian food if staying here and helping to provide for own eating needs.

PHILOSOPHY

as stated in harvey krumpet...carpe diem ....seize the day. don't stress the small stuff.....look for the positive in all.....follow your heart....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted lots of people at our house over the last 10 years but usually people we have met at festivals and invited to stay/ not necessarily via the couch surfing Have also been invited to stay at others places when travelling and know how special this experience has made our trip. most people staying have been through our own networks but happy to support travellers when possible. Please indicate that you have read my profile by acknowledging something i have stated. I am registered in the over 50's group and while i have many younger friends I am not really interested in just being a cheap bed for overnight and like people to contribute towards their eating/food drinking etc.
We are a good base for people wanting to explore the Dandenong ranges, yarra valley food and wine region but unless you have a car you will need to plan public transport. Have picked surfers up from local train station but unless I am not working and do not have other plans I am not expecting to be your local tour guide but will recommend good places but do not want to spend nights helping you plan and book your itinerary.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Please indicate that you have read my profile by acknowledging something i have stated. I am registered in the over 50's group and while i have many younger friends and willing to host younger people I am not really interested in just being a cheap bed for overnight and like people to contribute towards their eating/food drinking etc. have not used couch surfing myself when travelling yet but have had many people offer us their place to stay and know this experience is special.

Interests

Biggest love i guess is performing, theatre and singing but opportunities wax and wain and mostly i am busy gardening, painting, catching up with friends and family and developing my healing work. I Like people generally, camping in the bush and sitting around a fire with friends having a drink and sometimes a smoke....generally keep a healthy lifestyle cooking mostly vegetarian food and going for walks and doing meditation but that does not stop me from loving to party and being a little wild at times. I enjoy lots of movies but are not good at the violent ones and never remember names of music, books, films i have seen or associated actors but do engage in lots of cultural experiences but just hopeless at remembering names. I like exploring and thinking about the esoteric especially the prophecies of ancient cultures. i enjoy gatherings/festivals and regularly attend confest (community festival held easter and Christmas but have also gone to the states to attend Burning man 2011 and have been involved and attended the first three Australian Burning man festivals-Burning Seed. I do not like to waste the earths precious resources so am mindful about what i buy and consume, and who i buy from.
Currently getting more and more interested in drawing and forms of self expression...my garden is one of these as i try to grow and eat from my garden as much as possible.....sometimes with success and sometimes dismally.

Music, Movies, and Books

Black books, Flight of the Concords, Harvey Krumpet,-actually quite widely read and have seen great movies so engage in a conversation with me and i can probably go there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to pick this one but loved being at the heights in Nepal looking across to Tibet, rambling and exploring Machupiccu and was blown away by the beauty of the landscapes in USA. Love the Australian Desert and feel at home in the red dirt country but generally love most of Australia that i have visited. Home birthing my three sons would have left me awestruck and a few other things as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

have been to burning man in america so can share information about this and have been involved and attending the australian burning man called burning seed since its official inception in 2010.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bolivia, France, Germany, India, Nepal, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Peru, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
