About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing new places, meeting new people, embracing my bros and sistahs all over.
I hosted people when I lived in Portland. Now I live in Ajijic, MX. I have a guest room with its own private bathroom.

ABOUT ME

I've traveled to most all states in the US, many countries in Eastern Asia, Spain, and Costa Rica. I have various friends from each of my residences and travels. I've lived in DC, FL, Eugene, OR, Anchorage, AK, Dallas, TX, ,Portland, OR, and now MX. I enjoy reading and politics (even when they are not looking so bright,) hiking, a good cup of joe, art museums, doing pastels, bike riding, and various other projects. I have two beautiful granddaughters.

PHILOSOPHY

Be the best you can and be there for others. Make your days count. Appreciate my time on this planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe this is a great way for people to connect, host, and learn about each other and different places in a non-capitalist way! I am up for a cup of joe and willing to show you around Ajijic, MX and the beautiful surrounding areas or give you directions and send you on your way. I have comfortable accommodations and am looking forward to doing some surfing of my own!

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmm...I like a lot of John Irving, loved "Don't Sleep, There are Snakes, by Daniel Everett, "The Poisonwood Bible," Kingsolver, and "The Shipping News" to name a few. I enjoy adventure and "light science" nonfiction as well. Music: always Dylan, old blues, lots of world music, regae, and modern like Philip Glass.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw the Ruins of Angkor Watt before they were mostly destroyed. It was a breathtaking experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been a working artist off and on most of my life and have a lot of technical skills in those areas that I can teach. I am also good at design and "fix it" ideas. I am easy to talk to about even the most personal things if people so desire. I am also a retired teacher and good designer and "fixer upper."

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, United States
