About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I plan to live in the moment! Life is a joy!

ABOUT ME

I love learning and having meaningful conversations with people. I like to talk about books, cultures, environment, politics (very annoying), psychology, and art... I work full-time running business functions of a construction company and also working on several writing projects. I have a blog on Medium, and a few poems published in a few poetry collections. I write short stories and work on a young-adult novel project.

PHILOSOPHY
Life is beautiful when it's shared. I need to show you that sunset :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first introduction to Couchsurfing was through my close friend in Istanbul. I joined him a few times when he took his guests around. I always loved cultures and people, so, this was a great place for me. Then my own journey started. I move to New Zealand and made so many friends in the Auckland Couchsurfing community. I love to be part of this amazing ever growing friend circle, so many beautiful connections... My very first Couchsurfing experience as a guest was way after all. I was hosted by wonderful people and this platform grew even bigger for me.

Interests

I love reading so much and unfortunately, I don't read as much as I used but especially reading more during Covid lockdowns, I confirm reading is an utter joy for me.

Writing is how I express myself, and how I learn and process life. It can be painful but rewarding.

I fell in love with hiking in New Zealand. I always loved walking but going up became a passion within the last ten years and where I go I want to hike.

I put some learning and time into photography long ago, and even though I still love capturing amazing frames I don't pursue anything further than pleasing myself with photography.

I almost like any type of music but especially rock sounds. I'm not a great all the time music listener but I love concerts, festivals and live music events.

I love playing sudoku, word games and learning Spanish these days (end of 2022).

Music, Movies, and Books

1984 (George Orwell), The Dispossessed (Ursula K.Le Guin), Kurk Mantolu Madonna (Sabahattin Ali), Nazim Hikmet, Orhan Veli, Ozdemir Asaf Siirleri...

AC/DC, Queen, Guns and Roses, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Amy Winehouse,....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving in Auckland. It was sooo good. Even though I'm not an adrenalin person, I loved it.

Rescued by helicopter while hiking the Routeburn Great Walk in 2020. That was such a full-on, continuous rain and I was one of the hikers to be rescued since the walking path couldn't be crossed, blocked by a waterfall.
