About Me

In search of weak ties =D and all the business knowledge I can get

ABOUT ME

Change is the essence of life. Be willing to sacrifice what you are for what you could become.”—Tony Robbins

Hello everyone

I have always been passionate about traveling and knowing people and seeing places and learning languages. I have not traveled as much as I wish I could since I am in school. But hopefully one day I would get to (even if I haven't finished my career- there may not be time, right?. Let me know if there is something you would like to know.

Not traveling at the moment but hosting anyone (sane individuals) that come to the area with the hope that it will be reciprocated one time in the future.

Welcome to my HOSTEL
You have to leave AWESOME recommendations... =D

Questions? Ask. Any locals want to hang out/get together and make some delicious good??
Add me on Facebook people!

Also, when I am asked if I want to join someone or some people to do something or go somewhere, I always say yes without knowing things happened and stuff changes. So, I apologize in advance if I can't make it to you =D

PHILOSOPHY

Visionary

It's our personalities that determine who we are rather than our genetics.

We always spend our lives waiting for something to pass and the only thing that passes is life itself. LIVE IT UP

I don't know- we don't know- if I am going to be alive then, let's just do it now. Me

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other... people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

– Marianne Williamson

Clean. Neat, not so much.

I have a couch that can easily accommodate a single person but my apartment has lots of room for those that travel with sleeping bags or for those that don't mind sleeping on a comforter on the rug. Also, have a guest's room for added privacy but then again the sleeping will be on the floor or sleeping bag. I have a delightful miniature pincher that guards me and my visits at all times. With that said, if you don't like dogs, this may not be the best place for you-- but who doesn't like dogs, right.

If I'm not working, I can hang out and show you around. When I host people on the weekends I can always hang. During weekdays, it's best if you have planned something to do or are going to find something to do- this is because we must leave my apartment before 8AM for work. I think this is fair since most CSers usually want to check out the area. If you tell me you just want to stay in and sleep or do nothing, this is probs not the best place- that is just a little weird, if you know what I mean.

Also, this has happened a few times. So, if anyone needs to be in the area for a period longer than a week and would like to rent a room, we can arrange a stay for a small fee that would get you a private room, freedom to use the other common areas and laundry room, and all utilities included !! The apartment is so close to downtown and there are two bus lines running frequently to/from UNC campus/Chapel Hill/Carrboro.

I have a laundry room for those that need to freshen up their attires. No charge of course =D

I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE TO SAY THIS, BUT YOU MUST SHOWER EVERY DAY REGARDLESS OF ANY PERSONAL BELIEFS. AT LEAST FOR AS LONG AS YOU STAY HERE. NO SHOES, SUCKS MUST BE ON AT ALL TIMES.

Gay friendly is a must. Also, you need to be open minded, if you have any racial hangups = please stay away.

Geez. A new update (3/15/13)--> Gay friendly is not equal to I want to sleep with you if you are a guy. Most of my male friends are straight.

Also, I reserve the right to ask anyone to leave my property at any time for whatever reason and many other rights as I see fit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting & surfing, CS activities in my city... I am very open minded and always looking for interesting things to do.

I tell people that I kind of have a "Hostel" at my place because sometimes I have a couple of CouchSurfers from different places and everything is awesome, especially when two of them find out they have something in common.

Also, many times I accept/invite more people than I can host (without knowing or planning accordingly with dates or surfers just have flexible dates, too). That's not a problem for me if that's not a problem for you. There is always room and if there isn't we can find some. With that said, you must be down to meet other fellow surfers and open to other people's ideas, thoughts, and what not. =D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Few but working on improving that.

As of 9/13/12--> pretty good so far... Have hosted a few people and I love this idea.

As of 11/26/12--> Awesomeness still

As of 1/6/13 --> Awesomeness still. Meeting people that do not need a couch but that want to hang out is been pretty cool, too.

Interests

Languages. Travel. Books. Movies. Awesome and random conversations. Meeting new people that can bring something interesting to my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music! Music makes me feel better. It lifts me when I'm feeling down. Love movies too- especially going to the movie theater, esp. by myself.

I do some reading as well. I am still looking for an author for whom I feel a connection with or just one that speaks a voice I can relate to. Suggestions are always welcome- I love reading things that other people read for fun or their studies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dancing under thunderstorms, lighting stroking my car while driving it and seen it so close and yet watch it refract away.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am multilingual -- Spanish, English, and French. So, I love languages and learning them as you can see. Learning/teaching myself Italian, Greek and Russian. Love to talk to people in their native language. I like to fix broken cars, have helped a few friends with their flat tires ha. Like to cook- can make good breakfasts and a few basic but nutritious meals.
