ABOUT ME

My name is Benji

Honestly haven't been involved in the Couchsurfing community as much as I wish I could be but that's because the past 3 years has been occupied with finishing university, devoting time to family, work, etc.

But after what feels like 48 long years I am free to live!

Preparing to move to Nanjing in the next few weeks so before I open my place to visitors I need time to settle in and learn about my surroundings to be the best host I can be.

Movies. Music. Video games. Occasional drinking.

PHILOSOPHY

Learning about others, where they come from, and what they do. Teaching the same about myself. The more people we know the less ignorant we become.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to participate by not only expanding my views on the world- but by helping others expand theirs. With every person you meet you get to learn about them, their beliefs, and their culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with some, now friends, in Toronto and have shown a few cool people around Chicago- if you are ever there I can give you so many recommendations. Also, Dustin (also a Couch Surfer in West Lafayette) was my roommate and in the year we were under the same roof housed a few surfers!

Had a surfer from Germany stay with me and my former roommates who were much more involved in the community than I was.

Interests

My interests range from everything between cooking to drawing to going to the gym and watching movies.

Board games, drink making, video games, photography, piano, so on so on so on.

Note that none of my interests are anything I take very seriously! I like to enjoy things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musical tastes very from Lady Gaga to Marilyn Manson to Nat King Cole to the London Symphony Orchestra. Seriously, my iPod is the definition of "eclectic."

Movies are just about the same but I love them. I have about 200+ and counting in my personal collection! Though I do prefer a good horror film more than anything else.

Reading- I need to do it more but.... I enjoy manga. Harry Potter. And it's juvenile but I absolutely love children's books. No idea why. I never outgrew them I suppose.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An amazing thing I have done is watch my 6 niblings grow-up to be such wonderful beautiful children :]

I have no children of my own but each of them feels like my own!
