About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting people that are themselves and doing interesting things. I want to have an interesting life filled with people that will enhance it.

ABOUT ME

I want to create things, build relationships and make people happy. I am always on some sort of self-improvement project or working on some ideas that just occurred in my head. A thought is a dangerous thing for me. I love ideas. I get transfixed in them and then I must implement them.

I want to create something beautiful. I haven't achieved that goal yet so I must still keep on trying.

I would need seven lives to live out all of my ambitions. I want to meet people from all walks of life. I want to open my eyes, understand the human condition, and have a good time.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that people can overcome their fear and conditioning through mindfulness. I don't have the answer to existentialism but I believe that positive energy can make a difference. We are here for a short amount of time. Let's make it count.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will be able to host people once I am more settled in Hong Kong. Interested in checking out the city. I want to share experiences and meet people, especially the ones that are doing more creative work.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. Just met some people that I like that highly recommended it.

Interests

piano, reading, writing, gardening, walking, bicycling, swimming, coffee houses, street food, talking to random people about what they think about the world/life/humanity, languages, Southeast Asia politics and culture, yoga, blueberries, succulents, and beautiful things.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is Ikiru by Kurosawa. I listen to everything under the sun except for country music. I don't get it and don't relate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to sum it all up. I grew up in rural Vietnam, saw poverty and experienced the close-knit Vietnamese community, lived in suburban America, went to college in LA, studied in rural Japan where I saw a man picking up a piece of trash by the river that didn't belong to him (their sense of civic duty is high), studied gothic architecture at Cambridge, England, worked in Hanoi, lived and worked in DC at a huge development bank. I feel I have seen many faces of humanity and I find us very interesting.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like people that care about the world we live in and the people that are in it.
