About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am going on a trip to Cambodia and South Korea by myself and am hoping to meet locals/ other travelers during my travels. Would love to explore, eat, drink with company.

ABOUT ME

British graduate who just wants to explore the world and make friends along the way! Travelling is my obsession and I've been blessed to have traveled to about 30 different countries. I'm very easy going & open. I like to laugh a lot and drink lots of tea!

I am very easy to please & be around. I'm quite a basic person & I don't demand much at all, I'm use to sleeping rough in the past, so a floor would be absolutely fine for me & a couch would just be luxury! For me, it's more the people I will meet & stay with rather than just a place to stay during my travels. I suit my schedule to suit that of the host's i.e I will be awake & out of their home as they wish (if they are going to work for example). I will be back at the times they wish & will keep the hosts I'm staying with well informed of any plans..Of course, I do hope you will be able to join me!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to create memorable experiences, without letting money get in the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want and hope to host people visiting London, though I am now living with my family and they are quite apprehensive about hosting so I won't be able to host as much as I would like. Though, of course, this doesn't apply to any of my hosts/people I met in America!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was a couchsurfer during my travels of America in 2013 after I finished coaching tennis at a summer camp. I stayed with hosts in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Chicago and Milwaukee.
I attended meet-up events in Hong Kong & Bangkok in 2015 & met some amazing people.

I have only hosted one person, an American man from Ohio, for one night at my old flat at university. I picked him up from the station & he wanted to have some English food so I took him to English pub for dinner. I also showed him around Coventry, took him to the town centre, my university & to the cathedral.

Interests

Of course I am interested in travelling! Mainly outside of Europe and particularly in Asia. I love playing tennis & I played it quite frequently with my University tennis club. I like shopping at vintage shops & love eating out. I will always grab an opportunity to go mountain biking, rock climbing & jet-skiing.
I love to socialise - whether it's going for a drink at the pub or cafe, going to a mate's house, park, city centre etc. I just love being around good company.
Besides my degree in Economics, I am also very much interested in Politics. So in both fields, I like to search for debates on; certain issues, policies, problems etc there's so many great people who are sharing their knowledge & ideas (via books, videos..)and I like to discover & listen to what they have to say.

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie/Alternative/Rock/Dubstep/Drum & Bass/RnB/Rap/Irish boy bands haha
Watch all sorts of movies, though some top films that I can think of at the top of my head include; 500 Days of Summer, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Finding Nemo, Mean Girls, Inception, 10 things I hate about you, Les Miserables, Scott Pilgrim versus the world..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered at a special needs orphanage in India.

Teach, Learn, Share

In India, each state has its own language, religious majority & cuisine. It is sort of like Eastern Europe in a way..loads of little countries that form one whole.
My dad is North Indian, from the state of Gujarat (which is mainly Hindu dominated) , & my mum is South Indian, from the state of Kerala (which is mainly Catholic dominated). To westerners, my race is just seen as 'Indian', but when Indians ask 'where in India is your family from?' after I tell them, they say, 'ah so you're mixed (Indian race)'.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

India, United Kingdom, United States
