About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Raising my little ones up to be loving and cultured people.

ABOUT ME

I'm laid back, chatty. I love to laugh and do things that bring me back to being a carefree child (climbing trees and playing a playgrounds.)

I love to talk and learn crazy new things and I simply love language.

I am a fun seeker but most things I find fun come in the form of knowing people and their stories, and participating in life with them. God has created some seriously incredible stuff to enjoy. So, I want to discover more and more and spread community and love everywhere I go. Join me!

PHILOSOPHY

God created this world for us to enjoy. To indulge in a pink/purple sunset, and to feel the tingle of water rushing over our toes on a river bank. To see every range of skin color and love the diversity and then hear laughter and recognize and treasure our unity. I want to spread God's plan for this world: to Love and live in peace, and to share life with each other and carry each other's burdens. I want to live life with this at the forefront of my mind. In general, people are the greatest reason for life. I love 'em

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had the pleasure of surfing in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Brazil. My next goal is to host!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite was a girl in Itajai, SC, Brasil. She became like a sister to me and we still keep in touch. We both have cross cultural significant others and we both love beer. I will never forget the three visits I had with her.

Interests

I'm not an expert in anything but I am willing to try most anything. I love good coffee and beer (living in the NW of the US gave me this). I enjoy food from EVERY culture. I love to sing and do it often. I love nature, having long conversations. I REALLY enjoy teaching English, learning new languages, and learning about people's lives. I regret I'm not an expert in anything but I have done and like doing many things as long as it's with people that I love.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will watch most any movie, but I'm not a fan of bad acting or incredibly predictable stuff (unless it's really good action).
Books: I regret I haven't been reading a ton lately. The book I read consistently is the Bible. Seems to have most everything I need for life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I climbed Mt Fuji and saw the most incredible sunrise I have ever seen.
- I traveled to a small town in the interior of Sao Paulo and Christmas with my husband's family without him there. They were so welcoming and I loved the joy they had as a family.
- I gave birth to two of the most beautiful babies and I get to be their mama.

Teach, Learn, Share

Like I said, I'm not an expert at anything BUT I dabble in a few things:
Play piano a bit
Been known to indulge in a good karaoke sesh.
Speak some languages and if I don't speak them I can mimic well. ;-)
I get excited about stuff... I think I can teach you!

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Japan, Laos, Mexico, Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Japan, United States
