About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm trying to live a quiet and peaceful life connected to people and Nature. I work for money enough to make ends meet, but each month I try to need less money looking for more sustainable habits. This way I can use my time for whatever I feel like.

ABOUT ME

Basically, i believe that if we all shared what we have, and if we kept for ourselves only as much as we need, the world would be a lot better. I happen to have a big house that's absolutely amazing so that's what I share with the world.

Here's a short extract from my blog:
"...As for electronics, and usage of energy, water, and gas - well, water and gas we're still trying to figure out how to make a difference. So far we've decided to have heaters that work on low consumption, but we try to not use them more tan necessary and to have lots of blankets to sleep under when it's cold. As for electricity, the house is fully equipped with LEDs, so as to have enough light during late hours of the afternoon and early evening. The idea is to NOT have as much light at night as we'd naturally have during daytime since that's kind of Nature's idea. The benefits of sleeping in proper darkness and silence, and of going into dark and silence gradually, have been tested and proven throughout several studies. So, the plan is to not be extreme: have some cheap, nature-friendly light, but not watts and watts of artificial whiteness at any given time of the day.
Of course we don't use microwaves since I at least, highly doubt that they're as innocent to the human body as they are said to be. I personally don't consume sodas of any kind nor beer although I do have the occasional glass of wine.
So basically, the idea is to be responsible. Responsible for what we consume, responsible for what natural resources we decide to exploit, responsible for what we put into our bodies, responsible for how we live our lives. And I do believe that there is another way to do things, that is equally comfortable and that, at the end of the day, when you're all alone with your thoughts, makes you feel that you did things right."

PHILOSOPHY

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

"What do you want a meaning for? Life is a desire, not a meaning."

We achieve being through doing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I mostly host I've had some amazing times surfing other people's couch and always try to be a good, responsible, grateful surfer.

I've actually traveled around Argentina a lot, just hitchhiking and meeting people and staying over at their houses.

At this point I've had tens of CSers over and love it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would have to say that the most amazing thing I've done is what I'm doing right now: not being afraid to be myself and trust my own instincts.

2012 update: So I was travelling around with a fellow couchsurfer who first crashed my place for some weeks and then invited me to tag along on his trip. After parting I kept travelling for a couple of weeks and came across an amazing video about a place I'd never seen. The second I saw it I asked the person who was with me to find out what that place was. He told me it was called Burning Man and it only existed a week a year. I asked him when it was going to be this year and he replied August 26. So I decided I had 6 months to figure out how to get to the US. A week later, after he decided to join me hitch hiking for a few days I received an e-mail offering me a temp job in the States from June to August 16. After closing the deal, I went to buy my ticket to the burn only to find out that they had been sold out for months. After reading the website for a while I found out I still had a shot at applying for a low income ticket a few days later. So I did.

I just got back from Burning Man 2 weeks ago and it has been one of most interesting experiences. Not to mention the amazing people I met there.

Thank you life, for proving yet again how unbelievably immense you are.

Feb 2014 update: Living in an island in the Amazon with a community of less than 200 inhabitants and helping a woman have her baby there. She was later on named after me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an English and Physical Education teacher. I'm also really good at making healthy meals.
I love learning new languages and to play different instruments.

I'm lately been asking each couchsurfer to bring at least one book they're willing to leave here and write their names on the first page and where they're from (anything else you'd like to add only makes it better!) so we can get a big assortment of books for everyone who stops by to read.
Also, anything you can help out in the house with is greatly appreciated.
