About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Embodying inner and outter peace.
"Happiness is a direction, not a place" - Sydney Harris

ABOUT ME

I am an animal protector, ethical vegan, and a Bhakti Yogini. My life revolves around my work that I am so incredibly passionate about - protecting, saving, and advocating for animals. Ethical vegan for 6 years now I enjoy trying new plant based dishes, volunteering at animal sanctuaries, and caring for my two rabbits (Pita & Scarlett). I am a Bhakti yogini practitioner - spending my time studying yoga philosophy (i.e. Dharma, Bhagavad Gita, etc.), practicing asanas, and trying my best to live a life of ahimsa (non violence through my actions and thoughts).

I grew up in Queens (borough of NYC) and have known only of the fast paced life for the most part. I recently moved up to Westchester, NY to live closer to nature. I believe what we surround our senses with is truly who we become. So, I've stepped into a chapter in my life to seriously stop and smell the roses. I grew up Greek (making frequent trips to Greece where my family immigrated from) so living a slower paced life should come easy eventually :-) Nowadays I enjoy hiking, spending time by the river, and gardening in the backyard (growing my own veggies!!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing back in 2011 prior to departing on my 2 month Euro trip and what an experience it has been. This site has opened up doors to new friendships, building a new definition of community, and reinventing the way I travel.

Interests

I LOVE art, interior design and decor (I love looking for budget used furniture and hoping to learn how to refurbish pieces one day!), and I'm currently learning how to play the ukulele.
