ABOUT ME

My name is Nico and my passion is international travel and everything that comes with it: new friends, new countries, new experiences, new sights, new memories, new foods, new cultures, new insights, new everything.

Right now, my husband is a flight attendant so we're traveling in a whole new style. We can reach places that were more expensive, and travel more frequently. But this mean we'll be flying standby which leaves room for travel plans to change. This could mean a delays or cancellations, so my apologies if planning becomes complicated, I promise we're a good time and worth it! Lol

I moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico in September 2012. That was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I lived there for a year and gained a complete new perspective on life. (Also got to meet/get to know/travel with my husband )

I'm pretty easy going; I have a very diverse group of friends from all different parts of the world.

I aspire to visit many places from all over the world. I'm becoming more inclined now to explore nature as well as cities.

Most importantly, I'd love to meet you! One of the best parts of traveling is hearing the stories of the many walks of life in this world, learning our differences helps broaden our horizons, and on the other hand we learn what we share in common throughout the world, uniting us.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn to love different things and people because it makes life a lot easier. Don't stress over little things. Travel abroad, learn something new. Step out of your comfort zone constantly. "Don't dream it, be it".

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I meet surfers and I surf.

Currently unable to contribute by letting surfers stay but when the situation is right I can't wait to accept surfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a few times and every experience is very unique. Love meeting up with people from CouchSurfing for some drinks, giving a small tour, sharing tips, broadening a fabulous travel network, sharing stories and talking about anything!

Interesses

When traveling I'm interested in checking out
EAT = local spots to eat, new types of ethnic food, trying different types of fruit,
DRINK = trying local craft beers, new alcoholic drinks,
SEE = architecture, STREET ART/GRAFFITI (love love love), weird and quirky sights, urban blight, beaches, hikes, cool neighborhoods, pretty much open to trying most things.

-floated in the Dead Sea
-dipped my hand in Loch Ness in November...freezing!!
-made it to the most expensive city in Europe: Oslo!
-touched the Adriatic Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, English Channel, Red Sea, Dead Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea and the North Sea all in one trip.
-had absinthe ice cream in Prague!
-made it to the Holy City: Jerusalem!
-camped for my first time for 4 days with no service or possibility of a decent shower in Culebra, Puerto Rico
-road tripped down the coast of California
-road tripped in northern France to the Mont Saint Michel
-traveled in the West Bank alone

We WILL teach you how to play Yaniv. very addicting and fun card game played by backpackers all over the world. Our couchsurfer in Montreal taught it to us, and we have been spreading the love ever since.

I'm filled with cultural info that has helps me broaden my horizons each day. I can give out good travel tips.

My husband knows how to cook really well, he's a vegetarian so he knows how to get creative with spices and flavorings. He'll surprise just about any hardcore meat-eater with how delicious his vegetarian cooking can be.

We're always open to learning new things from people from every corner of the world.
