About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finally finish my degree

ABOUT ME

I don't really do normal, I don't really fit into any pigeon holes. The only sports I like are ultimate and roller derby. I'm a bit of a gamer, I love anything survival, especially post-apocalypse. I love music, but the only (famous) band I've seen live is Noah and the Whale (they were actually amazing). I love slam poetry and I sometimes write my own. I love tattoos, but I don't have any yet; I have lots planned though and I want to get my lip peirced (again). I'm not blokey or manly, I think that is a bit tw*tish. I love horror movies but if it's a good one there's a chance I'm sleeping with the light on. I wear eye makeup. I'm a feminist and I read a fair bit of feminist literature. Love Adrienne Rich, Simone de Beauvoir, Emer O'Toole and the like. I believe in equality and universal rights very passionately. If I feel someone's rights are being infringed or abused I will not be silenced. So naturally I don't eat meat; I also don't smoke or drink and try to avoid refined sugars. I just don't like putting sh*tty things in my body.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed all around Europe for eight weeks, sometimes successfully, sometimes not so successfully; but either way, couchsurfing helped make my trip unforgettable, so I intend to host as many people as I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think it is a genius idea, and my journey was so awesome because of it. Will always host to people now!

Interests

Being random, spur-of-the-moment, off-the-cuff and will o' the whisp! Travelling! Meeting new people, doing new things. Awesome.

I love listening to music; anything really, but preferrably something with a bit of feeling. My favourite band is Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes

I'm a bit of a homebody but not a recluse. I'm really easy to get on with!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite book, and genuinely the greatest thing ever written, is A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers, closely followed by Weaveworld by Clive Barker. I read a lot of philosophy, and I'm a big fan of Thoreau, Nietzsche, and Emerson. Also a big fan of postcolonial literature.

Best band in the world = Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes! Also like Radiohead, Stereophonics, Coldpaly, Pulp. Way too much to put here!

My fovourite movies? Erm, The Matrix, The Beach, Into the Wild, Good Night and Good Luck, Fight Club, Big Fish, Children of Men, District Nine

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending 1224 hours with my travelling buddies and still remaining friends!

Closely followed by living in London - the most vibrant place I've ever been.

But actually, I'm so amazed at everything - the world is amazing and we don't need to look very hard to be astounded!

Teach, Learn, Share

Open your mind, have no expections, preconceptions or limitations, and just go with it. When you live like this, things come your way, at least this is what I have found!

Learn from others - they can see you much better than you can see yourself.

Eat well?

Think freely.

Hmmm.

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
