CURRENT MISSION

I work as a freelance translator. I am fascinated by Scandinavia at the moment so i have made a few trips to Copenhagen so far.

ABOUT ME

I live in Edinburgh but I was brought up in Glasgow. I have lived in Berlin and travelled extensively. I speak fluent German and my normal job is as a translator.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in treating people fairly and doing as you would be done by. When I host surfers, I believe in giving them energy , time and being kind. I hope I will receive this treatment back along the way.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a lively, interesting, sociable person who has travelled a great deal and has a very positive outlook on life and the enrichment you get from travel. I have been living in Edinburgh for many years with some trips abroad and always have itchy feet. I am particularly interested in the former GDR.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a fabulous first-time surfing experience in Leipzig during August and September 2011. I believe in spreading my good fortune around!

兴趣

My main hobbies are Argentine tango and skiing. I also enjoy hillwalking, salsa dancing and diving. Travel, cinema and the arts. I enjoy meeting new people and things German.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have travelled extensively. I recently returned from living in Luxembourg for 9 months. I lived in Nepal in 2006 during the Maoist uprising and taught English in a school in the Annapurna area which had no electricity and no hot water. I can rough it! I have also travelled through South and Central America and Europe. Most amazing things must be Iguazu Falls and Macchu Picchu.

I enjoy inspiring people whom i can learn from. I enjoy people who are fun to be with or those who are more serious. I enjoy great conversation and think I can be quite entertaining but I can also listen. If i believe someone can benefit from my knowledge or expertise I am very happy to share it.
