About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Host / be hosted by other worldly travelers. Trying to see the world and decide what to do when I grow up.

ABOUT ME

Traveled extensively in military - most of Europe on a Eurailpass. Orient Express. Viet Nam 1 1/2 years - just re-visited 2 years ago (beautiful country; great people) Traveled to Belize and Panama recently. Relocated grand-daughter to LA. Willing to be gracious host and exchange stories/info about travels; debate politics; debate Blue Coat vs Tanguery gin; or share local people watching spots. Active 'older' person - don't shy away from an old guy. Was politely told many years ago that age is just a number !

PHILOSOPHY

Try to leave each place a little better than when you got there. Treat people as you wish to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted several times and have been left hanging several times. Please, if you are interested in the offer or not, just respond. A non-response possibly denies another cs'er.

Music, Movies, and Books

Avid newspaper reader - enjoy seeing/holding the newspaper while having breakfast - somehow different than seeing it on screen. Would love to see term limits and a third party. Still miss the 60's activists - our gov't needs another violent revolution.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Grand Canyon - beyond description. Panama Canal - engineering phenomenon at time of construction. Snorkeling anywhere ! Viet Nam - could live there if it wasn't so far from 'home'. Childbirth - I haven't given birth, but witnessing was an amazing experience. Recent (2014) trip to San Juan del Sur was pretty decent.

Teach, Learn, Share

Open minded, informed people. Sorry Eric Canter, you're not invited! And Ted Cruz - you didn't make the guest list either.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Warm welcome; hospitality; good conversation; food and grog.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Nicaragua, Panama, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
