About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying San Diego, and anywhere else we end up!

ABOUT ME

We love exploring anywhere we can go. We have had the good fortune of being able to travel quite a bit in the last few years. We also love being at home and sharing it with our friends, old and new alike!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love to meet new people and see new places. We love entertaining and having guests also. Andy was on the CS tech team and has helped out at several of the collectives.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before discovering Couchsurfing I spent a couple nights a week on various friend's couches and living in my van while Laurie (my wife) was in graduate school far from my job. We were then able to spend 6 months in Europe while she was studying abroad and met some really cool people and had some really great Couchsurfing experiences. We are always looking forward to meeting new folks!

Music, Movies, and Books

Grateful Dead and other jam bands, Funk, but like lots of other music too, like to see live music and go to outdoor festivals.

As for movies, I like Chevy Chase and dumb comedies in general :-) A good action adventure movie is hard to beat and Laurie likes to be scared but nothing too gory. We like lots of other movies also and especially enjoy seeing them at the Drive In.

I usually end up reading technical books more than novels, but Laurie can finish a book in 1 day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Found a job that let me work 50% time from Europe telecommuting! (even with the 9 hour time difference to the West Coast USA)

Teach, Learn, Share

Lots of experience with fixing stuff. Cars, computers, home improvement etc.. Like MacGyver I can do anything with some toothpicks, some duct tape and my Swiss Army knife. Gardening is also an ongoing interest to learn or share.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, Laos, Mexico, Nicaragua, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Hungary, India, Thailand, United States
