About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Planning my next trip to somewhere.. After travelling to Europe for the first time last year 🙌

ABOUT ME

I am a tall, white, Afrikaans gay guy born in Pretoria and now residing in Cape Town. I am in love with this part of the country!

I work in IT by day and read/write/cook/party by night.

I live in the coastal town of Gordon's Bay and love it!

Come say hi (:

PHILOSOPHY

I don't judge. If you treat me with respect, I will do my utmost to return the favour.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been part of the community for a long while now and currently travelling I have met some amazing people!

Interests

I am a keen sport-watcher. Formula 1 is my favourite sport - go Ferrari! I am fully behind the Boks all the way in Japan this year.

I am the biggest iPhone freak alive and have acquired some more Apple products over the years.

I love cooking at home with my boyfriend, reading or finishing off my "book".

Music, Movies, and Books

My current favourites are Led Zeppelin, Sam Smith, Logic, always Adele and some Afrikaans music.

I am a big Harry Potter fan but I have since satisfied that need after watching the last movie and re-read all the books again. I am enjoying Pottermore.com

A but of a series binger on Mr Robot, Kingdom, The Good Wife, Stranger Things, Santa Clarita Diet and Game of Thrones.

I enjoy John Grisham, Jeffrey Archer and the Mitch Rapp novels but mostly any book that grabs my attention by the summary on the back. Regaining my love for Afrikaans literature lately..

Also really into books about the history of Cape Town, South Africa and old Europe right now!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have taken road-trips, boat rides, passenger flights and more across the whole of South Africa and been to almost all the little cities in the surrounding Cape Town.

My most recent trip was in Europe: London, Paris and Amsterdam and it was a blast!! 😜

Teach, Learn, Share

I know my way around Cape Town and am quite adapt at knowing who to contact if there is something I don't know.

I think this 'willingness to ask' should also be beneficial in my travels.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll be happy to sponsor you a beer on arriving in Gordon's Bay as I know my way around the local pubs better than I am most times willing to admit.

I've also lived in most places in Cape Town (bar the Southern Suburbs) and can give you good advice on where to find an awesome place to spend the day - or night.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Netherlands, South Africa, United Kingdom
