About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm currently preparing for my first long cycling tour from St. Louis to San Francisco.

ABOUT ME

I'm very laid back, clean, and considerate. I'm a minimalist in an endless journey towards learning to thrive on less material. I'm currently down to a backpack and a few things left at home, but I would like to do away with those extras as well someday.

I'm also an aspiring travel writer whom is embarking on is first long term bicycle trip. I'm starting in the New Orleans area feb 4th.

PHILOSOPHY

As I've stated, I'm a minimalist. Right now I don't feel the need for a lot of things, just a few things that are very useful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been a host over the last 2ish years (though not officially through couchsurfing.com) when I had my own place and now it's my time to go surfing. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to couch surf with anyone through this site but I have gone wwoofing in Oregon and it was, overall, a delightful learning experience. One that I would like to do again.

Interests

I enjoy backpacking and exploring wilderness areas. I also enjoy cooking but have no formal training in such (if you let me stay with you, I'll help with dinner and occasionally cook for you if you're fine with that. [some people get territorial about their kitchen]). I love playing chess, writing, and disc golfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are way to many for me to list here but I'll list my top favouries:

The engeener's triliogy
House of Leaves
Child of Fortune

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The singular most amazing things I've ever scene was when I was going out to Oregon through California. I've only seen pictures of the pacific northwest but those did it no justice. That stint of my ride was the most gorgeous scenery I've ever seen. I'd love to go back to live someday.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm seeking to establish my self as a travel writer but it's been going slow. I cook moderately well but I have room for improvement and would love to pick up some new techniques and recipes to add to my repertoire.
