ABOUT ME

I'm Ryan. I believe in positive energy, being polite and kind, and exploring the world around me! Usually if I'm travelling it's attached to doing a performance; I can be pretty independent, so if I'm surfing your couch, I won't suck up your energy or time needlessly....but conversely I do love socializing and discovering new things, so look forward having some fun and making a new friend! I love a good party and dancing all night, but am also straightedge (no smoking, drinking, or drugs for me... a personal choice, but I won't try to convert you, promise :P), disciplined and pretty responsible.

When travelling, I travel light and love to see live music, theatre, cinema, architecture, nightlife, and delicious food :) I have travelled all through Canada, the US (spent this past summer in up and down the Cape and fell n love with Ptown), Cuba, Mexico, and some places in Brazil, where I fell in love with the culture and the people. My portuguese is still awful but I am trying! I am always eager for anything brazilian, and I love learning about the culture, the politics, the music, and especially the food! Nowhere in Canada has good Moqueca or cocadas :P

I love animals (especially cats) and don't eat meat. In addition to performance work, I sideline as a writer (with a published column). I'm on every social media as ryanghinds, and welcome adds/follows if it looks like we're going to spend time together.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking forward to surfing when I need to and hosting when I can! *****UPDATE at the moment I can't host, but would love to show people around Toronto! I love my city, and playing tour guide is fun and I can show you some off-the-beaten path destinations and events (and often get you in for free!). I will show the real Toronto, not the clean tourist version.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Rio, de Janiero, Sao Paulo, Montreal, Florianopolis, and Vancouver, and have showed some many people around Toronto

Every time I have surfed with someone, I've come away with a new respect for their city and the individuals in it....and I'll always do your dishes!
