CURRENT MISSION
Cascadia.
ABOUT ME
I am the director and founder for CascadiaNow!
Our organization plays an integral part in the Cascadia movement, which empowers individuals and communities to envision, explore, and realize their own goals for the betterment of everyone living in the bioregion.
We are occasionally listed as the largest Independence movement in the United States (Time Magazine 2008) and occasionally not politically affiliated at all, and the truth is somewhere in between. Cascadia is the bioregion we live in, and the Cascadia movement is everyone who lives here. It is our connection with the landbase, the food we eat, and how we relate to each other - our culture, identity and politics.
In the past, I helped start the Seattle Street Medical Collective (2005) and am a former Wilderness First Responder (2008) Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (2009), and Medical Personnel in Charge (2009). I have also been on the board of directors for the People's Harm Reduction Alliance (2010) and was their Medical Outreach Coordinator (2011). For 2012-2013 I lived in Beijing, China and taught Business English for the German Chamber of Commerce, the French Chamber of Commerce, and worked in company for Audi R&D, Medical English for a mixed team of doctors, nurses, TCM practitioners, doctors and CDC officials, and worked as a lead English copywriter for a pilot project with Volkswagen.
