PHILOSOPHY

I believe in people and feelings and that life is wonderful if u know how to smile and think positive. Through other people we can learn many interesting and important things and so I would very much like to have friends from all over the world to exchange views and thoughts :)
LETS SHARE SOME POSITIVE ENERGY!! :)

When was the last time you did something for the first time? :)

"Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile! Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore... Dream... Discover..." ~Mark Twain

PS. If you love life, life will love you back... :)

***BEDBUGS: These days bedbugs seem to be on the rise, I hope most of you are aware of them. Did you stay in any place at your trip with bedbugs? If yes, did you check all your panniers, bags and stuff afterwards in case some of them caught a ride with you? Normally, you should empty all your stuff, wash any clothes and leave your bags under the sun for a few hours, that would do the trick. Please let me know if you had any bedbug experience at your current trip, unfortunately bedbugs are a major problem in most of the hostels quite everywhere now!***

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling and meeting happy wonderful couchsurfing people all over the world :) Hosting whenever I can when I'm back in one of my bases :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My 1st couchsurfing experience was 20 years ago, I was in Samothraki island to an open air psy festival. I met 3 colourful happy people from Belgium, we came back in Athens together and stayed in my place for 3 days until their flight, these were my 1st couchsurfers :) Then I went to Belgium, I stayed in their place. Next year they came again, and I went again as well, that time, I stayed in the Netherlands.
And thus, my couchsurfing experience started... now I have many experiences, all of them truly wonderful!!! ...mmmm the next one, maybe you? :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Getting lost 2 times in a day, after a lot of hitching, about 25km of walking-trekking, visiting a volcano and running due to alarm and me being away trying to climb a mountain, being in the middle of nowhere after wrong communication in hitching, found a crazy rail line with the help of a happy girl working in a gasoline station, and in the end, got lost again in a road through a forest, in the twilight zone, FORTUNATELY happy japanese girl with car (one of the FEW cars that passed) stopped and saved me hohoho, brought me to the camping (I was searching for that), Aso, Japan :D-After being deceived by a guy in a wat (Thai temple) ended up being in a fake tourist office with a guy wearing a suit and a tie trying to have my money by selling me fake trip plan, insted of leaving I went on to play the game, to see how far would he go, heheheh, really funny, in Bangkok, Thailand :D -Got lost with my bicycle, I stop in a small house-shop, guy with computer inside, I ask him to show me in the map where I am, he makes a phonecall, closes the shop (!!!), brings a minivan (!!!), and drives me to the place I want to go!!! ONLY in Shirahama, Japan :)-Departing from Portugal to come back to Greece with 20 euros in my pocket, an interail ticket expiring the next day, getting stalled in Nice due to bomb alarm, spending the night in the street, catch the ship just before it leaves, end up in Patras with no money, happy crazy security girl saved me and helped me to come back to Athens (after I hitchhiked for 3 hours), some years ago :D-Walking the Laugarvegurinn (Hot Spring Road) trek in Iceland, 55km in 4 breathtaking days going through all the seasons and some of the most wild amazing nature!:) -Cycling 1500km crossing part of Japan with a mamachari city bike and then from Japan to Greece through Silk Road cycling with the same bike:)

Teach, Learn, Share
