About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel...listen...learn...live.

ABOUT ME

I am 23, have a positive and sunny attitude towards life though at the same time I am always the realist and I am also fairly relaxed (maybe too relax when it comes to keeping time, I'm just terrible!:). I enjoy an adventure and love off the road travel especially if its with an interesting and kind partner who I can have banter with and lots of long deep witty conversations...it makes one feel like they've known the person for a life time!

In my travels I would love to learn off other people, their stand points, their assumptions, their way of life. Its my opportunity to enrich myself as a person through my interaction with you (and hopefully vice versa), so please do not fill shy to be honest and open with yourself. And although not everything will go I am very open minded and I am sure we shall both benefit off the interaction!

Also whilst travelling it'd be great to find a travel buddy!

PHILOSOPHY

I now have the time [unfortunately not the money] to do all the travelling, I have always wanted to do. I have no one mantra to live my life on...that's why I'm on the road.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a few couches in Spain and would be happy to show someone around my city, whenever I have the time to do so. I'm yet to be a host but I look forward to it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used CS to enhance my experience of travelling in Spain- and both Spain and the CS community has totally taken me by surprise.
Along the way, I have been taught how to snorkel by who was first a stranger and now a friend in waters so clear you can see the sea floor, I have picnicked on top of a hill looking over Madrid at sunset surrounded by CSers, I have partied till dawn in the beach at Barcelona, I have bull chased and experienced bull figthing...and all this whilst improving my Spanish making some fantastic friends along the way. I feel invigorated alive even by my CS experience.

Interests

Hill/ mount walking, exploring cities, good dining, cooking, reading, cycling, travelling, photography, languages, drinks out at the pub have I missed out partying.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: All Toni Morrison's novels especially The Bluest Eye & Marilynne Robinson's Home & Gilead, Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantel is also a contender.

Music: Ranging from Karl Jenkins, Oliver Mtukudzi & Daddy Yankee to Jill Scott, Beyonce & Coldplay. I'm not a music snob so anything goes really other artists that make my ears perk when I hear them on radio are Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Mumfords & Son, & Florence & The Maachine

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekked through the mountains to Macchu Picchu in 5 days via the Salkantay Trek, with all my luggage & temperatures at below freezing...it felt great to finally see it's two peaks rising out of the mist in the sun rise!

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know that Sanskrit is the root of all modern European & Asian languages? And did you also no that chai is Swahili for tea, hence when you go to your nearest Costa/ Cafe Nero or Starbucks and order a chai tea you are actually asking for same thing twice!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Peru, Serbia, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Kenya, United Kingdom
