About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling in Europe

ABOUT ME

I am a french project manager who used to work in China and is now back in France but looking forward to more international travels.
I would say I'm an always optimistic person, looking for the bright side of things, even with COVID being around at the moment.

I think I often look as a shy person at first sight, but once I feel comfy (very quickly, I promise, and if not, a beer will help), you can discover the real me :)

A few last things:
- I already have grey hair :'(
- I clearly suck at KTVs and karaokes
- I love to hear about foreign cultures from the local people. This is the reason why couchsurfing is so good because it allows us to discover the countries we go to through the eyes of the people knowing it the best.

PHILOSOPHY

Can we say living abroad is a philosophy? This is my goal, at least for my first job and then, future will tell...
Update: i have now successfully lived abroad for a few years and am looking forward to my next chance at it.

And if you know the song "Don't worry, be happy", well I think this is something I apply every day in my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is the best way to discover new cultures by meeting people from the places we are going to.
Whether it is by sharing a drink, having a walk, going running or hiking together or by being hosted or anything else, I find that CS brings me a lot of positive experiences.

These last years I had lost sight of couchsurfing but as I am planning my first solo trip in ages i decided to brush up my profile and try it again.

Interests

I would say i'm currently mostly interested in running, drinking beer, traveling and discover cultures

Otherwise here are some of my other interests:
Taking naps
Tennis: I've played this since I'm 4, and I've never stopped.
Running - on my way to becoming a trail runner and a marathoner
Xi Hu, Hangzhou
China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea... (in fact I should say the whole Asia and South East Asia!)
Travelling
Music, video games, mangas, tv shows, movies
Eating, any where, any time, in Chinese streets or in restaurants
Coffee (a good coffee can always cheer me up)
Parties, bars, and drinking are also a quite important part of my life. I believe people have to get lost from time to time

Music, Movies, and Books

There are so many "_"
Can I say Netflix and Amazon Prime regarding current tv shows? This would be a good start... I'm quite a fan of cinema in general.

I also like to read, mostly thrillers, science fiction, fantasy and biographies. I should add i really enjoy mangas when I find time to read some.

Concerning music I listen to anything, really. From classical music to RnB or heavy metal, I can always find something I like. Recently I went to a J-pop concert given by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (didn't know that kind of music), and I really enjoyed it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Is showing myself butt naked on my sister's wedding picture something amazing or idiotic? I'll let you judge...

Other than that I have climbed a 5000m high peak, I also inspected about 60 chinese/taiwanese factories, without speaking Chinese. This was quite an adventure, and I saw many awesome or surprising things. By now I have learnt enough Chinese to speak not fluently but good enough for work and life.

I should add a roadtrip in Qinghai and Gansu provinces which was a long long drive but never disappointing, I should say amazing, even.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach tennis, French, English.
I think I could also teach people "How to live and work in China without speaking Chinese", and how to take naps.

I am terrible at: drawing.

I want to learn how to make good coffee, cocktails, and to brew beer!
My sister tried to teach me piano, I refused, and now I regret. I would also like to learn other languages, or how to play baseball!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Obviously i will share my enthusiasm and curiosity but other than that mostly my experience of Asia and tips about french culture I guess!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Qatar, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
