About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Write some novels, drink some wine, and see some beautiful places.

ABOUT ME

I'm a writer living in northeast Scotland with my fiance. I've taken some considerable time off work to be able to travel freely, and to finish my second novel.

PHILOSOPHY

Ones thoughts should be as free as ones ability no matter what the cost. This is to say one should not allow social mores, and folkways(and at times taboos) to influence ones ideas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love to host people, but we don't usually couch surf when we travel. We're definitely looking forward to utilizing it to meet locals when we're in other countries though. I think also, at some point I'd like to organize a supper club.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to be what I would call a freelance professional participant of the activity.

Interests

Writing, drinking wine, reading, cooking, traveling, conversation, adventuring, and picnicking.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I could remember them all this would be an enormous list. So, I feel like Les Miserables was probably the greatest novel I've ever read. I enjoy the poetry of Pablo Neruda, and the philosophy of Albert Camus. I'm a junkie for non-fiction, which I view as candy, and I have to consciously try to keep myself away from it. I shouldn't even keep it in the house really, but if it wasn't around I'd be sneaking out in the middle of the night just to find some.
As far as film, I prefer comedies, but I'm drawn to documentaries. Also, I like any music that's beautiful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Primitive camping in the boundary waters canoe area wilderness/Quetico Park. There's nothing like true places of the wild as a tonic for the ills caused by overexposure to civilization.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've had a rather unusual life that's provided me with a lot of good stories. I love stories. Hearing them, and telling them.
