About Me
I’m a beggar
I've been homeless, it humbled me greatly. I was forced to depend on the kindness of strangers. In doing so a world opened up to me that I previously had no idea existed. A world full of amazing souls and truly kind people…
Obviously my circumstances have changed and I now have a nice apartment to share. But I still identify as a beggar. No doubt this would make for an open and interesting conversation should you decide to request to stay with me and I accept.
As a black host I’m hoping some will open themselves up to a unique opportunity to make friends with a black guy in order to gain insight and new perspectives etc… (why did I write that? I’m so weird.)
I act shy at first. But certainly can I really be shy if I’m a beggar? No ! So I don’t know why I do that but there you have it. The human condition is at times perplexing.
Anyway, I’m very friendly laid back and chill. I’m not that host that gets all up tight about trivial stuff. You can make yourself at home with me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet other people who are either like myself or unlike myself but open minded friendly and accepting. I think the true pleasure is connecting with your “tribe” so to speak…
Not gonna lie. A quick glance at my references will inform you that apparently my tribe is mostly women. Could there also be guys from my tribe on CS!? Yes. Possibly… Men of culture are all over planet earth. Maybe they only surf with female host I don’t know.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a guy so my interest here fall along very predictable lines. Yes I enjoy good Sci-Fi, good action, etc… I’m curious about anime but haven’t invested much time in watching anything that got me hooked, yet.
I’ve read all the Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games books. I’m not a big book reader though.
Musically I’m open to whatever sounds good. From hip hop to jazz, some electronic, pretty much everything but country music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode a Greyhound bus from Port Authority New York all the way to Kissimmee Florida simply by approaching the bus drivers and telling them I had no bus ticket but was in need of a ride.
I was featured in several newspapers around the world that described my homeless situation… (that was SO embarrassing)
I couldn’t get a date in high school so I taught myself how to play tennis because the high school tennis team was coed. It was either that or join cheerleading. I met my first girlfriend on the tennis team and we won the mix doubles county championship together.
After being diagnosed with severe generalized Myasthenia Gravis. I was able to teach myself how to walk again. Actually pretty much do almost everything again.
Teach, Learn, Share
While I’m no chess master and would describe myself as a casual player, in my opinion chess is a great game to learn, plus that show on Netflix “Queens Gambit” has sorta made the game more popular. So I can teach you how to play chess…
I can also teach you poker. Granted, poker is ONLY fun when you’re playing for stakes. Of course I would go easy on you should you decide to learn this fun card game.
And lastly I’ve got an Xbox (still packed) and two controllers in case you might be up for some video gaming fun.
I live in a part of Brooklyn that’s commonly referred to as “Chinatown” because of all the Asian owned businesses so if you’re into Asian restaurants and eateries you’re gonna love it here !!
