About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to have fun and live life in the moment.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently traveling, heading west to Arizona and looking for people to play music with on the way. I play the banjo and the drums and percussion, and guitar.

PHILOSOPHY

The heart knows everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to travel, and to meet new people and learn about other cultures. I've slept on so many couches in my life, so I feel like it's only fair return the favor :) A few years ago I lived in tucson, AZ. The house I lived in—nicknamed the 'Rabbit Ranch,' because of all the rabbits in our yard at any given time, was big enough to house 3 or 4 people per night, and we had an average of 5 people stay per week. I think we had the record for Tucson's most surfed couches. It was fun to host so many people from all over the world - it was like a free B and B. So my plan is to try to host people here in NYC when I can (though my roommate isn't so into it unfortunately).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did a lot of surfing over the years, and still do at times, though I'm new to CS. In Mexico, I stayed with friends in Guanajuato and in Mexico City. And all over the u.s. in so many cities, and a few places abroad, in Singapore, and India. My sister in Los Angeles always joked about how her couch was permanently attached to me.

Interests

I am really passionate about psychology, mainly Eastern psychology such as Buddhism and other similar practices that focus on training the mind to achieve happiness. I studied this and also Buddhist Art practices, or contemplative art-making, from about 2003 - 2014.

Also I love playing music and doing visual art - furniture design, painting, and Zen calligraphy. I like to meditate, do yoga, go dancing. I love the color green, and find myself in parks a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitch-hiked across the country, from the east coast to Arizona, in 2010.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't really teach so much but I've studied Tibetan buddhism and meditation for a long time so I love to talk about them - especially how meditation and flow practices apply to the arts. I'm always learning - life is the great teacher...
