ABOUT ME

Goeiedag!

That's Dutch for Good day ;-) .. I'm Dennis, student, 23 years young and full of energy! Things I like to do depend from day to day. You can find me reading a scientific book in the library, partying in a nightclub, taking a walk through the woods or sleeping at the beach.. As long as it doesn't take too long, I dislike doing the same thing over and over again.

When I'm travelling I usually don't have any exact plans. Experience has told me that getting lost gives the best sceneries and moments. Avoiding touristic areas brings you closer to local cultures.

I'm a summer person. In that time of the year, I do most things outside, like all kinds of sports such as swimming, soccer or just running arround. Also I have a motorbike, which is my biggest passion at the moment. I love working on it and riding it in the lovely summerdays. At last I recently started playing acoustic guitar, it was a child dream of me which I never persisted.

As a person I'm very social, I like to talk to everyone and am very interested in differences. I have a positive attitude and am very open to suggestions. I don't like tunnelvision thinking and I am always looking for new challenges.

I was born and raised in Holland. Lived and travelled in the United States for a couple of months, the travels I had there to Florida, California and Hawaii made me fall in love with travelling even more. That's what I want to keep doing in life.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a journey. There is no destination. So make the journey as fun as possible. Do the things you want and when you want. Before you know you're stuck in middle life having an 8 hour a day job and a family to take care of. If you want something, do it now! Now is the only time that counts.

James Dean once said: "Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."

Thanks to CouchSurfing I got the chance to meet some awesome people with whom I've had great times during my travels. Didn't host a lot yet, but this will certainly change when the opportunity comes.
