About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The sky is the limit. If by limit you mean the first hurdle.

ABOUT ME

When I'm not building electric rockets, you can find me skydiving, backpacking, sailing, running, climbing, cooking/eating, drinking craft brews, playing music, or doing photography. I'll come along for most anything reasonable and love to find myself in new situations.

PHILOSOPHY

Things that are worth doing are worth enjoying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love looking at things from different angles, whether in research, photography, or travel. The fastest way to know a city deeper than its outward appearance is through people living there. I'm pretty good with local bars/clubs, athletic activities, or photo spots. I'll show you my town if you show me yours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Started surfing in Montreal, where I engaged a bustling CS community which absolutely made the whole trip. Been hosting here and there since. Why would I travel any other way?

Interests

trying new things. It'd be great if I could spend my time rolling around the world on a motorcycle, taking pictures and trying local brews, meeting new people to show me new ways to enjoy the world. That and I want to send things to space.

Music, Movies, and Books

STAR WARS. I also enjoy David Lynch; Aronofsky; Nolan; some Miike if I'm in a weird mood; the Mexican trio of del Toro, Cuaron, and Inarritu are doing some great work.

Anything from classical to heavy metal to EDM to rock. Vivaldi, Apocalyptica, Metallica, Dream Theater, Bump of Chicken, Deadmau5, Opeth, In Flames, White Rabbits, Phoenix...

Some recent or favorite books: Dune series, The Elegant Universe, The Remains of the Day, 1984, Dracula, Fahrenheit-451, photography books, astronomy books, science journals

If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I tested wind turbines and solar cells for two weeks in Antarctica.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to take you on a photowalk (or photobike-ride) and show you the world from a different angle. For the more adventurous, perhaps sailing a small boat in summer or snowboarding in winter. I'll point out stars and constellations in a clear night sky and teach you how we can eventually get there.

Please please please teach me your language and your culture. Bonus points for teaching me to cook your local specialty.
