About Me

I love to hang out and socialize. I'm a bit of a technology "nerd", I have been in I.T. all of my life professionally. I love a good conversation over some drinks or hanging out at the movies. (I love a good sci-fi, action, or comedy flick.) My favorite time of year is summer.. I really LOVE swimming- if our pool where I live was heated, I would use it every day!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interests

I love to go swimming, watch baseball, air shows, play Warcraft and Halo, drink beer and wine and go out to different restuarants. I love flying. (If I could afford it I would get my license and fly every weekend!) I used to live in southern Cal for awhile, and would go up in a plane with a buddy who has his pilot's license.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Right after I graduated high school in 1989, I went with a group of students to Cherkassy, Ukraine as part of a high school Sister City project. We had just hosted a student during the final semester of my senior year. As a reward for graduating high school, my folks signed me up for the group so that I could go and be hosted myself, and see what life is like over there. The big difference between now and then was back when I went, it was still the USSR. I want to go back and see how the country has changed now that all of the "states" of the former USSR are essentially their own countries. One thing I learned from being over there is that we take a LOT of things for granted here in the USA, like 24 hour fast food drive thru's, and more importantly, fully stocked grocery store shelves. They have NEVER seen anything like that over there. A very humbling experience!
