ABOUT ME

I enjoy travel. It lets me into another world. Different environments and people are always interesting to explore. I want to visit the local market when I travel. You know what the locals eat and their customs.

I am a good listener, easy-going and eager to share travel experience and meet some friends.

I work in IT and I can build computer systems from scratch. I am very logical and analytical. People feel IT jobs are boring. In fact, it requires knowledge, skill and patience. Resolving an issue or a problem brings me the kind of fulfillment like finishing a painting.

I am not a big fan of alcohol. Having a drink to exchange views and ideas is definitely not a bad idea.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a journey. It has up and down. It does not matter. Treasure the moment you have because it just can't be reversed. No regret.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I read the Chinese book "你家沙發借我睡" written by a Taiwan artist - 林鴻麟. He is start his couchsurfing when he studied in Paris. I was inspired by him.

I offer no couch at the moment. I enjoy having a cup of coffee and meeting people around the world. I can give you some travel advices and even be your guide during weekend. If you like hiking and beach, I can lead you to Big Wave beach - a nice beach especially for surfing.

Also, there are other scenic walks around Hong Kong Island and Kowloon such as the peak and Kam Shan Country park.

Other sightseeing places I can recommend include Stanley, Clear Water Bay, Tai O and Sai Kung. And there are many attractions you can explore.

Hong Kong is a paradise not only for shopping but also for eating. You can find restaurants of many different cuisine. It is just a matter of your preference. Definitely, you can taste local and many different Chinese cuisine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I didn't have couchsurfing experience yet. I was a backpacker when I just finished my university live and before going to work. I spent about 6 weeks on exploring Europe with my sister-in law. We were budget-travelers, but we could travel to many countries such as German, Austria, Italy and Hungary. Though it was a tough journey and happened many years ago, it was wonderful. I enjoyed it very much and am very happy to recall those good memories. There are many interested things to tell and share as every traveler does.

Apart from Europe, I have traveled to Asia such as Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia. Some of them were just lay back travel - staying in the resort and visting only a few spots. They did not have much interaction with locals. Japan is my recent travel destination. Japanese is polite and eager to help. They always strive to keep places clean and tidy. It is a place you don't need to worry security. The bad thing is that it costs you a lot....

I am almost 40 and have a busy work life. Through spending a month on travel may not be possible, I still enjoy traveling. I love meeting people and try to understand the way they live and they think. Interaction with local people makes my travel interesting and unique.

Interests

Hiking, sports such as basketball, badminton and swimming. not watching but participating.
I enjoy reading travel books. Some travel experiences you may never have a chance to come across, but you know it from books.

I completed a 42Km Marathon run.
