About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience the world as my community!

ABOUT ME

I have been a bicycle tour leader in Italy, and I've lived in El Salvador teaching English and observing their political elections. In the summer time, I run a high school student exchange program through Education First. I love travel and cross-cultural exchange because it always reminds me that there are more ways to look at life. After I became a mom, I haven't traveled as much as I had in the past. I would love to share more travel experiences with my boys, Daniel & Lorenzo; to have them experience the world in a whole new way. I'm not the kind of person that wants to cover 3 cities in 5 days, all from a hotel or guidebook. My preference is to hang-out long enough to feel the rhythms of a place; meet the locals; discover how folks spend their time and what makes their communities flourish.

PHILOSOPHY

Be grateful, the world is filled with treasures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I still feel new to couch surfing. I certainly enjoyed my recent surfer! I'd like to meet up with my Sonoma county surfer group soon:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only as a host, so far.... but I'll get out surfing! Don't you worry:)

Interests

Theater, progressive politics, live music, organic farming, dance, nature, community, spirituality.
I love to cook and support my local farmer at Singing Frogs Farm. Go Slow Food!
I also volunteer with a wonderful non-profit here in Sebastopol, The Ceres Project, that teaches teens to cook nutritionally dense food and then delivers these meals to people throughout Sonoma Co. struggling with illness, mostly cancer.
I work with the Science and Nonduality Conference, so I'm drawn to the "Oneness" of all things and happy to be part of it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Pink Martini, Rankin Family and almost any Latin/Cuban kinds of music.
Return of the Bird Tribes by Ken Carey was a favorite book of mine.
I gravitate towards independent movies and documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in the presence of Mother Teresa in Rome at a Jubileaum of Youth. I will never forget how tiny she appeared and yet, how BIG her spirit was felt by all those around her.

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to learn to knit? Or how to make my mother's chicken cacciatore? How about a hair cut?
