I am a big fan of Latin culture, and especially Brazilian culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I ran into Couchsurfing in Salvador, Brazil a few years ago. I met a lot of great people and had some amazing experiences. I highly recommend the Chapada Diamantina national park in Bahia. Make sure you go on a hike to Mixila, ask for the guide named Flor if you speak Portuguese. Visit Lurdinha's pousada if you don't.

I went to a number of couchsurfing meetups in Rio de Janeiro when I lived there.

I have mostly used couchsurfing to find activities, never stayed at anyone's house.

I want to visit Argentina, Peru, and Colombia next.

I read a lot of news about politics/economics/security in the Brazil and the US.

I used to train a lot in martial arts, looking to do so again.
