About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just do it.

ABOUT ME

***** I am currently not hosting much, that's why my response rate is currently so low. July 2019. *****

I'm about the spirit of the original couch surfing, before it went commercial. If you know what that is then we might be a good match.

NB I MOVED FROM CONAMARA TO GALWAY CITY Aug 2012.

I love people.

We live near the sea. We would generally welcome a 1-3 day visit (or longer if everyone is benefiting from the experience). We are fun-loving, spontaneous and adventurous. I love to cook for people and to enjoy lazy evenings having a meal, telling stories, playing music, singing songs, dancing. We always manage to get everyone to participate, even the "I can't sing" people. By the end of the evening they invariably have participated, be it by reciting a poem, telling a story, dancing with a chair, or doing a hand stand. Or any combination of the above. We are easily impressed and obviously just as easily amused. We have a little garden so you can smoke out there. We are easygoing and we play things by ear. We will be nice and welcoming to you, and all we expect in return is that you do your bit - clean up after dinner, (or better still, cook it), make the coffee, pick us some nice wild flowers or blackberries (you know those little, wild, purpley-black, fruity things that grow on bushes) - anything nice really we would appreciate.

PHILOSOPHY

What you haven't figured it out? :-) I'll fill in the blanks after dinner.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Showed two little kids in the Atacama Desert to play the Bodhrán. I'll never forget their huge grins from ear to ear.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll share with you about my native language, Irish, which is pretty darned interesting. I'd love to learn about anything you'd like to share with me. If you can salsa (dance) I'm in withdrawal, so I'd love to dance in the kitchen. Or if you don't, I could teach you... If you speak Swahili, well, we have to talk!
