About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting out-of-the-ordinary, interesting people. Life is only as good as the people you have in it!

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going girl from Australia who will rarely decline an invitation to do something new or fun!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm vegan, so a lot of my personal philosophies stem from a deep-seated belief in empathy, compassion and equality; that you should treat other beings, not just humans, the way you'd like to be treated. I'm not preachy or wanky about it though, I won't berate you for eating a hamburger near me. I guess I usually try to get the most out of every day and appreciate everything, particularly how fortunate I am, especially to have such a wonderful job and friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My place is way too small to offer up a bed, however I'm always up for hanging out and showing people around Tokyo, I've been here long enough to vaguely know where I'm going/cool places to check out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not had much experience on here as of yet, but I've randomly met loads of amazing people in Japan during my time here, and ALL of them have been CS members, so I thought it'd be a good idea to join.

Interests

Photography and music - I write/take photos for an online music magazine so it's a pretty great fusion of my favourite things. Also, beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movies are Waking Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Pan's Labyrinth, LOTR Trilogy, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Moon, District 9, The Matrix.

My favourite bands are Bombay Bicycle Club, La Dispute, Grown Ups, Envy, Bon Iver, The Gloria Record, Castavet, Suis La Lune, Malegoat, Bright Eyes, The National, Owen.

Favourite Books: The Life of Pi, Metamorphosis by Kafka (short story technically, but deserves a mention), Animal Farm, Blind Faith, Cloudstreet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Exploring Koyasan was one of the most exhilarating and awe-inspiring experiences I've ever had, walking through the ancient mountain graveyard to the temple at the top was absolutely incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach piano, origami, how to take a ok photo, Aussie slang, some really neat magic tricks, and I have disturbingly good knowledge of telescopes, should an occasion to use one ever arise.
